| Strengths | |||
|---|---|---|---|
|
• Unparalleled mobitlity with Volt Rush. • Her ult is the best AoE ability in the game. • Has access to powerful Electro Demon Wedges. • Synergizes well with Yuming, one of the game's best party members. • Very straightforward to play. |
|||
| Weaknesses | |||
|
• Boss fights can be when not yet fully built to a lack of burst damage. • Full potential locked behind Intron Levels 2 and 6. |
Rhythm is the best AoE farmer in the game, with an ultimate ability that deals strong AoE damage over a huge area. She is also one of the most mobile characters in the game, able to traverse long distances quickly with her Volt Rush ability.
Despite her mediocrity against bosses, her excellence in commissions and quests where you are faced with mobs make her an SS-tier DPS to run.

Rhythm mostly uses her Ultimate Ability to deal damage so Skill Intensity and Morale are the most important stats for building up skill damage. ATK is also important to build to increase Rhythm's overall damage, but this comes secondary to the other stats we just touched on.

Players in the early and midgame should look to prioritize improving the same two stats, Skill Intensity and Morale.
Should you be ineligible to acquire some of the Demon Wedges above, look to replace them with ones that grant ATK. Wedges that grant Skill Efficiency, Skill Duration, and Max Sanity should also be helpful since Rhythm consumes huge amounts of Sanity without an optimal build and team comp.

Venial Sinscales
|
Skill Intensity +40.0%. When an Electro character deals damage using a Plunging Attack with this weapon, grants self and Electro allies +10.0% Skill Intensity for 10.0s (up to 5 stacks). |
| 2 |
Wanewraith
|
Skill Damage +48% |
| 3 |
Eternal Farewell
|
Morale +30.0%. When an Electro character uses their Ultimate Skill, grants +50.0% Skill Intensity for 12.0s (up to 3.0 stacks). |
| 4 |
Sacred Favour
|
Character ATK +100.0%. Charged Attacks with this weapon grant +150.0% CRIT Damage for 6.0s. Effect is removed when switching weapons. |
Rhythm performs best when equipped with Yuming's Venial Sinscales, as this gives her the most amount of Skill Intensity out of all weapons. Just be sure to deal damage with your Plunge Attacks, as this will help Rhythm get Skill Intensity stacks.
Wanewraith is the next best weapon for Rhythm since its flat Skill Intensity buff increases her Skills' damage output. Because Venial Sinscales will likely be used by Yuming in a party with Rhythm, the Wanewraith will likely be Rhythm's melee weapon.
Zhiliu's signature weapon, the Eternal Farewell, is also a viable pick. This increases both her Morale and her Skill Intensity, two of her most important stats.
Sacred Favor gives Character ATK to increase Rhythm's damage output, but this performs notably worse than the other recommended options.
| # | Ranged Weapon | Skill (Max) |
|---|---|---|
| 1 |
Excresduo
|
Skill Damage +48% |
| 2 |
Rendhusk
|
Character ATK +120.0% |
Excresduo is the best ranged weapon for Rhythm given the Skill DMG buff it grants.
Alternatively, Rendhusk gives flat Character ATK, which Rhythm can use to boost her Skills' damage output, as well as her weapon attacks.
Exiled Thunderwyrm is Rhythm's signature weapon, but it's not good on Rhythm due to a lack of Skill Intensity buffs.

Rhythm's high AoE damage kit works best when alongside Fushu and Yuming. Yuming grants Zhiliu buffs to Morale, Damage Dealt, while debuffing enemies to take more damage from Electro characters. As a sub-DPS, he can also deal damage and hold the Wings • Inspo • Morale Demon Wedge to increase the entire team's damage. Fushu grants Skill Intensity, on top of healing and Sanity recovery. With these characters around Rhythm, she grows to be even better at dealing AoE damage, while having Yuming's extra firepower to deal with bosses and elites.
| Skill | Priority | Explanation |
|---|---|---|
| Volt Rush | ★★★★☆ | Upgrading Volt Rush simply increases the damage, which is important for a DPS. |
| Electro Vortex | ★★★★★ | Most of Rhythm's damage comes from Electro Vortex, so prioritize maxing this skill. |
| Tactical Preservation | ★★★★☆ | Upgrading Tactical Preservation increases the Sanity to Electric Energy consumption. |
| Skill Effects |
|---|
|
Volt Rush
Rhythm leaps forward, dealing Electro Damage to enemies along the path. When the Electic Energy point is no less than 30, consumes 30 points to increase the leap speed and Volt Rush's damage, and grants an effect that increases the damage dealt by Rhythm. |
| Skill Effects |
|---|
|
Electro Vortex
Deals Electro Damage to enemies within range and enters Electro Surge state, during which it continuously consumes Sanity. Electro Surge state ends when Sanity drops to 0 or when the skill is used again. |
|
Electo Surge: Increases Movement Speed for self and allies. Every second, deals Electro Damage to 1 random enemy in range, alternating between [Positive Charge] and [Negative Charge]. Prioritizes enemies with no [Electric Charge]. |
|
Electric Charge: Target with [Positive Charge] selects 1 random target with [Negative Charge] within range every 3s, both being pulled towards the midpoint between their positions and taking Electro Damage. If no [Negative Charge] targets are around, selects 1 random target to take Electro Damage together. When a target with [Electric Charge] is inflicted with the same charge type again, the duration of the [Electric Charge] on them is refreshed, and they cannot be applied with the opposite [Electric Charge] type. |
| Skill Effects |
|---|
|
Tactical Preservation
When consuming Sanity, converts a percentage of consumed Sanity into Electric Energy. The upper limit of Electric Energy is equal to the max Sanity. |
|
Poweroff Anxiety
When consuming Electric Energy, converts 50% of the consumed Electric Energy into Sanity. |
|
Thundering Nightbreaker
[Available only when deployed as a Combat Partner] Increases ATK for self and Electro allies. |
| Why We Recommend It | |
|---|---|
| I1 | ★★★★☆ - Great Electric Charge can now deal AoE DMG, making Rhythm viable against mobs. |
| I2 | ★★★★★ - Amazing! When an enemy with Electric Charge is defeated, the Electric Charge can be transfered to other enemies within range. |
| I4 | ★★★★☆ - Great Rhythm automatically gains Electric Energy at the start of combat depending on her sanity. |
| I6 | ★★★★★ - Amazing! Electro Surge can deal an additional hit to enemies, increasing Rhythm's overall damage and AoE. |
Intron 3 and 5 are just stat boosts. So, they are not included in the table above!
| Intron Effect | |
|---|---|
| I1 | Electric Charge - deals AOE Damage within a 3-metre radius. |
| I2 | When an enemy with Electric Charge is defeated, their Electric Charge is transferred to another random target within a 20-metre radius. The transferred Electric Charge retains its remaining duration, allowing the effect to continue on the new target. |
| I3 | Volt Rush Level +2,Tactical Preservation Level +1. |
| I4 | At the start of battle, Rhythm gains Electric Energy equal to 50.0% of her Max Sanity. |
| I5 | Electro Vortex Level +2, Tactical Preservation Level +1. |
| I6 | The number of enemies Electro Surge deals damage to per second is increased to 2. |
Volt Rush can be used to cover long distances while dealing Electro damage to enemies near Rhythm. Use this as a means to travel quickly in comissions, as an escape tool when surrounded, or to explore the open world at high speeds.
Do note that you can cancel the skill mid-animation by jumping or dodging.

When doing commissions, try to equip a Geniemon with the Deft trait, as this bypasses the need to solve puzzle mechanisms with the push of a button. This, paired with Rhythm's unparalleled mobility, makes certain commissions extremely fast to clear.
Rhythm's Ultimate lets her do two things. First, she deals big Electro DMG instantaneously with Electro Vortex. Then, she enters the Electro Surge state that lets her become faster and deal periodic Electro DMG with Electro Surge, which also affects targetable objects such as ores.
When Electro Surge is active, she randomly applies Positive and Negative Charges on to enemies, which then merge to explode and deal damage. Note that she can still move and deal damage on her own, so use your weapons while zapping enemies around you.
Having Yuming and Fushu alongside Rhythm in a team makes for one of the most effective character combinations in the game.
Fushu increases her team's Skill Intensity, while also recovering Sanity to remedy Rhythm's problem with high Sanity usage.
Yuming, on the other hand, also buffs Rhythm's damage output, while also dishing out huge damage himself.
Rhythm's passives, Tactical Preservation, and Poweroff Anxiety, work hand-in-hand, since it helps her alternate between using Sanity and Electric Energy as a resource.
When she consumes Sanity, she gets Electric Energy. Meanwhile, when she uses Electric Energy, she recovers some Sanity. Make sure to upgrade her passive skills to utilize this effect and have her skills be available more often.

Rhythm's Combat Partner effect allows her to increase the ATK of Electro allies and herself. You need her as a Combat Partner to get this buff.

Most of the characters in Duet Night Abyss can be obtained through the Secret Letter system. Using 10 Secret Letter Clues, you can buy the Secret Letter of Rhythm, which can be opened after completing a Covert Commission stage.
After opening a Secret Letter, it has a chance to drop a Thought. You then need 30 pieces of a Thought to unlock Rhythm. Do note that Secret Letters are not guaranteed to drop a Thought!

If you go to the Shop via the pause menu, you can buy a character's Thought for 150 Phoxene Plumule, which is the game's premium currency and can be bought using real money.

Rhythm is somewhat undervalued because she’s currently obtainable only by clearing bosses. Once Rhythm reaches L2, she becomes the best farming character, surpassing Rebecca. (However, the player must control her manually and activate her ultimate from the right position.)
