| 1 | Wake from Unconsciousness Listen to Camilla's update about the recent developments following the attack at the end of On a Gentle Breeze. |
| 2 | Leave the Sanctuary Make your way out of the Sanctuary to find out more information about the recent murder. |
| 3 | Head to the Asphodel and Speak with Outsider Go to The Asphodel and approach Outsider and Snow. |
| 4 | Talk to Rhythm Approach Rhythm in the Asphodel and find out what she wants from you. She will reveal that she is currently investigating a series of Charon murders. Outsider will convince you to agree to help the Escort. |
| 5 | Follow Rhythm Leave the Asphodel and follow Rhythm to the city gates. Follow the quest marker and use the Wall Jump to scale the wall of the rampart and onto the top where it's quiet. After the discussion with Rhythm, jump down to the street where the attack took place in the previous Noctoyager quest. |

During the investigation, you will obtain the following clues that are essential to making progress in the investigation: ・Estimated Time of Attack—4 to 5 a.m ・Assailant's Eerie Singing Voice ・Stagecurtain Scrap Found at the Scene ・Freshly Damaged Weathervane ・Spots of Phoxicor in the Snow ・Bent Weathervane Base Points Southeast When you have collected all of the clues, talk to Rhythm. During this interaction, a new clue will be unlocked: Assailant's Heavily Stained with Phoxicor. |
| 7 | Deduce Figure out which way the assailant fled by combining the following clues: 1. Freshly Damaged Weathervane 2. Bent Weathervane Base Points Southeast Select the new clue and submit it |
| 8 | Tell Rhythm About Your Findings Tell Rhythm what you just figured out. This will start a discussion that will unlock a new clue: Extended Search Zone in the Southwest: Factory ・Homes ・Schools. 8.1 Figure out the first place where the assailant could be hiding by combining the following clues: 1. Assailant's Eerie Singing Voice 2. Stagecurtain Scrap Found at the Scene 8.2 Figure out the second place where the assailant could be hiding by combining the following clues: 1. Spots of Phoxicor in the Snow 2. Extended Search Zone in the Southwest: Factory ・Homes ・Schools Submit the new clues. |
| 9 | Head to the Galea Theatre Go to Galea Theatre. You can teleport to either the Hypnos' House or the Sanctuary to go get there faster. |
| 10 | Talk to the Galea Theatre Staff Talk to the Galea Theatre staff and performers to find get their alibis and gain more information about the troupe. 10.1 Talk to Putsch 10.2 Talk to the props master 10.3 Talk to Violetta |
| 11 | Check the Attendance Sheet To verify the performer's statement, follow the quest marker to the attendance sheet stuck to the wall. The logs will confirm that no one has left the theatre for an entire month. |
| 12 | Meet Up with Rhythm Leave Galea Theatre to report back to Rhythm. She will show you canisters of Phoxicor covered in fish oil. Based on the clues she lays out for you, deduce the occupation of the most likely suspect. The correct answer is a fisherman. |
| 13 | Head to Mist Aken Run or teleport to Mist Aken and knock on one of the doors. A cat will come by to grab your attention by meowing. Follow the cat. |
| 14 | Talk to the Panicked Fisherman The cat will lead you to the fisherman hiding behind a building right before the Mist Aken entrance to the sewers. Your group will interrogate the panicking fisherman. The fisherman will reveal that he saw the perpetrator, a monster that emerged from the sewers. |
| 15 | Head to the Security Bureau To go to the Security Bureau, go to Icelake Suburban Square and follow the quest marker to the area where the sentinel are standing on guard. Go over the recent developments with Rhythm. The four of you will decide to go down to the sewers to find the monster. |

| Shadows of Dread Objectives | |

| 1 | Head to the Sewers Head to the sewers. For this quest, use the Mist Aken entrance to the sewers. You can either teleport there or run to the entrance behind one of the buildings in the slums. |
| 2 | Track Down the Perpetrator Follow the quest marker and press onward into the sewers. This quest will open up a previously locked tunnel in the sewers. Continue to follow the quest marker until you reach a group of Filthoids. Defeat them. |
| 3 | Keep Moving Go left to the Wastewater Treatment Area Avian Tower and activated gate to arrive at the Wastewater Treatment Area. |
| 4 | Talk to the Panicked Victim Go to the center of the room and talk to the cowering victim. He will tell you about the monster in the sewers and the other civilians who are trapped up ahead. |
| 5 | Unlock the Gate Clear the drag puzzle to turn the valve on the wastewater treatment system and open the gate. The valve will unlock the pipes instead of the gate, releasing a flood of Filthoids. |
| 6 | Defend the Civilian Face off against the oncoming Filthoids and defend the civilian. Stick close to the victim and don't let the Filthoids attack him. |
| 7 | Unlock the Gate Once you have cleared the Filthoids, go to the valve next to the gate and unlock it. |
| 8 | Head Deeper Down the Sewers Follow the quest marker to a flooded section in the sewers. As soon as you enter the new area, you'll notice a civilian trapped behind spinning columns with spikes. |
| 9 | Defeat the Filthoids There will be 7 Filthoids in the area. Defeat them to eventually disable the device trapping the civilian. |
| 10 | Reactivate the Control Panel and Rescue the Civilian Turn all valves to disable the trap and defeat any oncoming Filthoids while each valve is being unlocked. 11.1 Turn the First Valve 11.2 Turn the Second Valve 11.3 Turn the Third Valve |
| 11 | Drain the Wastewater The end of the cutscene will take you to a different area in the sewers, back to the entrance to the flooded section. Follow the quest marker to another valve nearby. Simply interact with the valve to turn on the drainage system. |
| 12 | Continue to Pursue the Perpetrator The quest marker will take you deeper down to the Wastewater Treatment Depths. Keep following it until you reach the very bottom, where you will meet the monster that attacked you. |
| 13 | Take Down the Perpetrator The Perpetrator specializes in close combat. It is generally recommended to fight it using ranged weapons or characters with ranged Combat or Ultimate Skills because the Perpetrator also dashes away at frequent intervals. As the battle goes on the Perpetrator will become slightly more aggressive, but the battle will end when you take out half of its HP. ▶ How to Beat Subject 47 |

| 3 | Head to the Fischers' Secret Base Teleport to the Icelake Outskirts Avian Tower and jump up and onto the bridge above. Follow the quest marker to the gate leading to the secret base. Then, go through the gate and follow the quest marker to a set of crates. Climb up the crates and enter a small tunnel that will lead you to the Fischer siblings' hideout. |

| 1 | Speak with Lynn Go to Lynn in front of the Security Bureau, and talk to her to start a brief cutscene. She will order you to talk to Clive, a high-ranking officer of the 13th Legion. |
| 2 | Find Clive Exit the city gates and turn to your left where you can find parked trucks and stacked crates. You'll find Clive with another Legion soldier. You will need to defeat Snow Wolves in the area to talk to Clive, who will give you a set of tasks to complete for the investigation. |
| 3 | Look for Rhythm Meet back up with Rhythm. You can find her at the northern exit of Icelake, near the pond. Catch 3 fish from the nearby pond to help Rhythm collect food for the residents of Mist Aken. |
| 4 | Head to Mist Aken Find Margie in Mist Aken to hand over the food. She can be found standing in front of the notice board near the entrance behind The Asphodel. |
| 5 | Speak with Clive Again Follow the quest marker near the site of the incident where the Perpetrator first attacked the Phoxhunter. Clive can be seen talking to a group of soldiers. Speak with Clive again to report for duty. He will order Rhythm and your group to head to the sewers. |
| 6 | Head to the Sewers Go to the sewers. You can use the manhole entrance in the area to as the best entry point. |
| 7 | Head to the Designated Area Follow the quest marker through a short tunnel to meet up with the other soldiers from Lynn's unit. Talk to them to receive your orders. Then, follow the quest marker again to a flooded area. |
| 8 | Drain the Wastewater As with the previous subquests, you will have to drain the wastewater from the chamber. If you ever find yourself lost during the rest of this quest, the giant blue clawmarks that can be found in your surroundings can serve as helpful markers. 8.1 Turn the First Valve 8.2 Repel the Filthoids 8.3 Turn the Second Valve |

| 6 | Review Clues and Continue the Investigation Start deducing the identity of the Perpetrator by combining the following clues you collected previously: ・Assailant May Be an Opera Enthusiast ・Assailant's Eerie Singing Voice Submit the clue to inform your companions of your suspect: an opera enthusiast. |
| 6 | Head to the Fischers' Secret Base Go back to the Fischers' secret base and solve 3 puzzles to sift through the tapes in the hideout. |
| 6 | Talk to Rhythm Go find Rhythm outside of the base and talk to her. She will sing the same song that the perpetrator sang on the night of the attack. Just as the group begins to hatch a plan to draw out the Perpetrator with the song, it will appear before them. |
| 6 | Confront the Perpetrator Confronting the Perpetrator (Subject 47) will start a very short battle that is less intense than the previous one. Keep attacking the Perpetrator until shortly after Outsider tells you to take it down. You will clear this objective when the Perpetrator stops attacking. |

| 2 | Eliminate the Elysian Soldiers Go back up to the testing grounds. This time, you will face off against a total of 39 Elysian Soldiers that were captured by the empire. |
| 3 | Eliminate the Devourer For the third test, you will be facing off against The Devourer, a powerful Filthoid that can fire beams and multiple energy orbs as projectiles. | 4 | Eliminate Subject 36 The fight against Subject 47's new friend, Subject 36 will play out in a cutscene with 2 quick time events (QTEs). Clear these QTEs to proceed. |
| 5 | Escape the Alchemy Academy Follow the quest marker to make your escape out of the Alchemy Academy. Subject 36 will follow you. 5.1 Destroy the Tanks 5.2 Destroy the Gate Anticipate obstacles such as boxes and lasers, and Spathatoi Alchemists who will attempt to subdue you. Destroy or dodge them as you try to make your way out of the Alchemy Academy. There will be no map for this area, so keep following the quest marker and push forward. |

| 7 | Meet with the Forsakens Contact Follow the quest marker to meet with the Forsakens contact backstage. Subject 47 will break off their alliance, prompting the Forsakens member to attack. |
| 8 | Defeat the Forsakens Member A fight with an elite enemy, Deceiver - Thunderbolt will begin. Defeat the Forsakens member to incapacitate him, initiating another cutscene. But before Subject 47 can kill the Forsakens contact, Clive and the rest of his squad from the 13th Legion will appear with their guns drawn. |
| 9 | Defeat the 13th Legion Soldiers Another battle will begin with Subject 47 facing off against Clive and the 13th Legion.
