Equip Inactive Geniemon to Active Geniemon to get bonus stats in Duet Night Abyss (DNA). Learn everything about Geniemons, including how to use them, how to get them, and what they are here!
List of Contents

To use Inactive Geniemon, open the Geniemon tab in the Armoury and select an Active Geniemon. You can then equip Inactive Geniemon to one of the open Trait slots surrounding the active Geniemon.

To unlock Trait slots for Inactive Geniemon, players will need to ascend Active Geniemon. Geniemon can only be ascended at max level, and each successful ascension unlocks an extra Trait slot.
Shiny Geniemons are different as they have four slots, with one of them being unlocked automatically.

Inactive Geniemons with the same traits can be fused together to raise the Trait Rank of your active Geniemon. Thus, a Geniemon with a green Trait Rank can be leveled up to blue, then a blue Trait Rank can be raised to purple, and so on!
It's important to note that the higher the Trait Rank is, the better the stats they provide.

Inactive Geniemon each comes with randomized Traits that provide various bonuses when equipped. Equipping an Inactive Geniemon to an Active Geniemon will grant the latter those Traits, giving these bonuses to the player when they use that Active Geniemon.

Inactive Geniemons can't be used in battle, as their main purpose is to give traits to your equipped and active Geniemons.
Active Geniemons are the ones you can equip to help you in exploration or in battle.
List of All Geniemon and Locations

Inactive Geniemons can be obtained essentially the same way as any other Geniemon. Explore the world and look for a small green beam of light. A beam of light indicates that there is a geniemon nearby, while inactive geniemons usually emit green light.

Use Bro Boxie's support ability when exploring, as it detects any nearby Geniemon.
Don't forget to trigger its skill for it to mark the nearby Geniemon. Check out the guide below to learn where to find a guaranteed Bro Boxie.

Once you try to catch a Geniemon, you can check the label below the feeding bar to see if it's inactive or active. If it's a Geniemon you want to keep, feed them treats. Remember that high-rarity treats have a higher chance of befriending a Geniemon.
