Location
Traversal Challenge During the special side quest How the Team Got Its Name, you will play through a tutorial on both kinds of Timed Challenges. Play through the main storyline to unlock this challenge.
Shooting Challenge This challenge is also encountered as part of the How the Team Got Its Name special side quest.
Shooting Challenge Upon entering the Icelake city proper, use the grapple points to get to the rooftops on the left side. You'll find this challenge on one of the lower rooftops in the slums.
Traversal Challenge From Outsider's house, head directly north, and you'll find this challenge on a small raised ledge.
Traversal Challenge This challenge can be found below the abandoned highway outside of the city. On the frozen lake, you'll find this challenge between a tree and a stone bridge overhead.
Shooting Challenge This is located at the border between the northern and southern segments of the Icelake map. Find this challenge on the platform overlooking the northern part of Icelake.
Traversal Challenge Upon exiting the elevator lowering you to the northern half of Icelake, turn left. You'll see the traversal challenge atop a storage container.
Traversal Challenge Continuing heading north on the mainline. Keep an eye on the shoreline, and you'll find a small island. This challenge can be found on a large piece of debris in the water.
Traversal Challenge Upon descending into the northern part of Icelake via the elevator, head left and cross the bridge. Enter the cave, and you'll find this challenge near the entrance.
Shooting Challenge From the Thawing Caverns fast travel point, head northeast. You'll find this challenge on top of a pillar

Location
Shooting Challenge Descend into Glevum Pit, and turn right. You'll find a natural stone mound in the middle of man-made platforms. You'll found this challenge at the tip.
Traversal Challenge After exiting the elevator going down into Glevum Pit, turn left. You'll find this challenge on an elevated ridge.
Traversal Challenge This is accessible only after starting the Crystallo of Stella main quest. Head straight from the Glevum Pit elevator and enter the room previously blocked off by yellow crystals. You'll find this challenge atop a storage container in the room with a giant crystal in the middle.
Traversal Challenge This challenge is hidden in a bush. Upon entering the room after the one with a large yellow crystal in the middle, make a sharp right turn. You'll find this challenge hidden in a bush in a corner that's easy to miss.
Shooting Challenge In the same room as the last, head to the raised platforms on the far east side of the map. This shooting challenge can be found on top of some containers overlooking the pit.

All Icelake Sewers Timed Challenge Locations

Location
Traversal Challenge Enter the sewers from the large canal in Icelake. From there, head southeast until you reach a long corridor. Continue east until you reach a broken wall. There, you'll find a traversal challenge.
Shooting Challenge From the previous challenge, head south and enter the large room. Underneath the large raised platform is a shooting challenge.
Shooting Challenge Keep going south and enter the room past the Depths of Icelake Sewers fast travel point. On one of the raised platforms on the right is the next shooting challenge.
Traversal Challenge Continue south from the previous challenge. In the next room, you'll find an archway on the left-hand side towards the end. Through here, you'll find the next traversal challenge.
Traversal Challenge Enter the next room to the south, and turn right. Once you're facing the large waterfall, look up to the right to find the next traversal challenge.
Shooting Challenge From the Icelake Sewers fast travel point, head west into the adjacent circular room. On one of the platforms high up above, you'll find a shooting challenge.
Traversal Challenge You can find this challenge in the southeasternmost room in the Icelake Sewers. You will have to solve a puzzle to lower the water level before the challenge appears. Simply follow the glowing cables and complete the mini-game for each machine to solve the puzzle.

Location
Traversal Challenge From the Filthoid-Ravaged Village fast travel point, head straight north. Nearby, you'll find a timed challenge on a rooftop, next to a large rock and dead tree.
Shooting Challenge Starting at the Arcane Ruins - Middle Floor fast travel point, head east, through the rest of the ruins. Once you exit, you'll see a long, shallow pool with a dead filthoid inside. On the far end is a shooting challenge.
Traversal Challenge This timed challenge is right in front of the Arcane Ruins - Top Floor fast travel point.
Traversal Challenge Head north from the Arcane Ruins - Top Floor fast travel point, and enter the tunnel leading to Sibylle's boss arena. You'll find the next challenge on an elevated ridge on the left side near the entrance.

All Lonza Fortress Timed Challenge Locations

Traversal Challenge This challenge is found in the starting room of Lonza Fortress---the same one where you defeated the Battle Maven. Atop the heap of storage containers, you'll find this traversal challenge.
Traversal Challenge From the Lonza Fortress Outer Perimeter fast travel point, head north and enter the room on the left. On the right-hand window near the exit, you'll see a challenge marker hidden behind some debris.
Traversal Challenge You will encounter this challenge during the Guns and Vines quest. You can find this in the large room containing caged filthoids, train tracks, and storage containers.
Shooting Challenge In the room with the Lonza Fortress Engine Room fast travel point, you'll find a door on the elevated platform opposite of the Avian Tower. Inside is a shooting challenge.
Shooting Challenge This challenge is also first found during Guns and Vines. Head west from the Lonza Fortress Sewers fast travel point. This can be found near the breakable wall in the sewers.

Traversal Challenge This challenge is located in the Galea Theatre main hall. You'll find a traversal challenge on the first balcony on the right.

What are Timed Challenges?

Mini-Games For Trial EXP

Timed Challenges give players Trial EXP and basic crafting materials for completing mini-games found around the map. Timed challenges aren't marked on the map. Instead, players can find these by looking for glowing yellow symbols during exploration.

Players can encounter two types of timed challenges. One of them is a traversal mini-game, while the other is a shooting mini-game.

Types of Timed Challenges

Traversal Challenges

Traversal challenges will have your racing across the map with a timer ticking down. You will need to run across all purple markers until you reach the end. At the end, a gold chest containing Trial EXP and varying materials will appear.

Shooting Challenges

These challenges spawn mini-shooting ranges where little black creatures will periodically appear and fly around an small area. With each eliminated, more will spawn. Keep shooting until the challenge is complete and a gold chest appears near you.

Traverse Swiftly but Carefully

Helix Leap DNA
For the traversal challenges, make sure to use your entire arsenal of moves. This means sprinting, double-jumping, dashing, and most importantly, using the Helix Leap.

However, be careful with challenges that involve platforms and cliffs. You'll find that falling back to the ground is much more costly that taking a few seconds to measure your next jump.

Beginner's Guide: Tips and Tricks

Use Assault Rifles

When attempting shooting challenges, use assault rifles. Assault rifles are the best option as their large capacity means you won't be reloading as much while the clock ticks down. Their high rate of fire also significantly widens your margin for error.

Turn Aim Assist On

Aim Assist is available, even for mouse and keyboard players. This feature will automatically have your reticle snap and lock onto nearby enemies when shooting. Turning this on just for shooting challenges is a surefire way of getting them done as swiftly and efficiently as possible.
