This is a walkthrough guide for the Prologue chapter in Duet Night Abyss (DNA). Read on to learn how to complete the Prologue, its quest rewards and objectives, dialogue impressions, and boss fights!

Prologue: Story Walkthrough
Escape the Purgatorio Island

| 1 |  Leave the Cave After the intro cutscene ends, leave the small enclosure and go out into the cave. A movement tutorial will begin. Follow the quest marker and the instructions to dash/dodge, crouch, use the Helix Leap, and Wall Jump to make your way out of the cave. |
| 2 | Make Your Way Down to The Village A waypoint known as an Avian Tower activates as soon as you exit the cave. You'll see a beach in the distance and an abandoned village to your left. Run down the side of the mountain and into the village. |
| 3 | Avoid the Filthoids and Head Home to Find the Weapons Berenica will tell you that it's too dangerous to explore the city while unarmed. Follow the quest marker and head straight for the house with the open door. You'll find a pair of swords you and Berenica can use to defend yourselves. During the cutscene, two Filthoids will sneak up on you and attack. |
| 4 |  Repel the Approaching Filthoids The battle begins as soon as the cutscene ends. A wave of Filthoids will come in from the village square, starting the Combat Tutorial. For this fight, you will be able to use Berenica, a powerful character with a balance of hard-hitting melee attacks and destructive skills. For now, you will only be able to use normal and charged melee attacks using your newly-obtained weapon. Though the Phoxhunter isn't playable yet, they will lend a hand and fight other Filthoids. |
| 5 | Head to the Dock to Find a Ferry From the village square, go down to the dock on the beach to look for a way off Purgatorio Island. Upon reaching the dock, Berenica will note that there are no ferries in the area, and that you'll have to head to the Ruins to commandeer an airship and fly out of the island. |
| 6 | Investigate the Beach Along the Coastline Turn back and investigate the boxes piled up next to a rock on the beach. You'll find two types of guns: the Osteobreaker Osteobreaker An assault rifle that hits harder the more bullets you have left in the magazine and Screamshot Screamshot A shotgun that deals more damage the closer you are to an enemy .
It's recommend to select Osteobreaker to start with. You can obtain Screamshot as a reward in the side quest Dead Wood in the Sewers. ▶Dead Wood in the Sewers Walkthrough Guide |

| 1 |  Head to the Ruins on the Mountain Head back to the village after picking up your ranged weapon. A wave of Filthoids will flood the area, so this will be your chance to test out your weapon. Keep pressing onward and take down the surrounding Filthoids until you unlock the Grapple Point tutorial. Grapple up to the roof of a house and keep taking down the Filthoids.  Once done, you'll be free to move around. Follow the quest marker back to the mountain to enter a large cave. There will be a few Filthoids there to greet you inside the caverns, but they can be easily defeated. |
| 2 |  Inspect the Vicinity Keep going until you reach a giant statue. Move closer until a cutscene begins in which you, as the Phoxhunter, will use your sword to open the path ahead. |
| 3 | Take the Lift Go around the statue and to the lift and activate it. This will take you up to the Ruins. |
| 4 | Open the Gate Ahead There will be a gate barring you from entering the Ruins. Interact with the contraption next to the gate to open it. The lock mechanism is an easy puzzle to solve as it is still rather basic this early on in the story and will only require quick reflexes to clear. |
| 5 | Explore the Ruins and Search for the Airship As soon as you enter the Ruins, keep following the quest marker around as you and Berenica explore. There will be Filthoids ready to ambush you, so be prepared to defeat them. As you and Berenica head higher up the Ruins and closer to the exit, there will be more enemies lying in wait. Defeat them until you make it to a wide open space. |
| 6 |  Fend Off the Approaching Filthoids Just before you head toward the mountaintop to reach the airship, you and Berenica will find yourselves surrounded by Filthoids. This marks the beginning of the Combat Skill Tutorial. Use all the accumulated abilities in your arsenal to fend off multiple waves of Filthoids. Keep fighting until you have successfully defeated the required number of Filthoids, ending the Burial Ground of Time subquest. |

| 1 | Continue Searching for the Airship You can safely ignore or run past the remaining Filthoids by running further up the mountain and into another cavern. Another gate will block your way. This puzzle will be as easy as the last one. Solve it to leave the Ruins. |
| 2 |  Defeat the Soldiers and Try to Escape As soon as you leave the Ruins, you will encounter Soldiers from the 13th Legion. Hordes of soldiers will attack you as soon as you notice them. They are stronger than Filthoids and there will be plenty of them, but Berenica can make quick work of these enemies. Soldiers will keep spawning and come after you and Berenica. There will also be enemy airships that will start dropping bombs. |
| 3 |  Escape from the Soldiers' Besiegement You will appear inside a large tunnel, away from the airships. More soldiers will greet you and the airships will attack the mountain instead. This section will take a bit more skill as large rocks will rain down from the cave. Try to safely dodge them and all obstacles while striking the Soldiers standing in your way. |
| 4 | Escape from the Place Keep running until you have safely left the tunnel. As soon as you move closer to the mountain, a cutscene begins in which Sibylle of the 13th Legion and the rest of the army will ambush you and Berenica. |
| 5 |  Boss Fight: Defeat Sibylle Berenica will face off against Sibylle in order to protect you, which will initiate your first boss fight. Once she is defeated, the final cutscene will start playing, marking the end of the Prologue. ▶ How to Beat Sibylle |

There will be a short cutscene after the first quarter of the battle. After that, prepare yourself for a full boss battle.
Sibylle's attack animations are usually grand and a bit slow. So it's recommended to position yourself at a safe distance during her windup motions, then attack with your Ranged Weapon. For instance, Sibylle often uses her Nefarious Storm Attack, a difficult attack to dodge upfront, but one that leaves her completely vulnerable from behind. You'll be able to use your combo attacks and Skill then.
Attacks will whittle down her Stance bar. Once it is completely depleted, she will enter a brief period of complete vulnerability. Get close and use that window to deal a heavy blow.
The Sibylle boss fight in Prologue serves as a tutorial boss fight and introduces Stance Breaking and Ultimate skill. Luckily, this next part is when you will be able to unlock Berenica's Ultimate
