Talk to Lars to start the Scars That Won't Fade Side Quest. Lars will ask you to help his uncle Donat, who has fallen very ill.

Go to Donat's Place

Follow Lars to Mist Aken, where his uncle lives. Lars will ask you to find Donat somewhere around Glevum Pit, where Donat usually frequents.

Go to Glevum Pit to Look for Donat

Follow the quest marker to the Glevum Pit Avian Tower. There, you'll find Donat, who seems to be completely fine. He agrees to go back to Mist Aken with you, but will ask you to escort him deep into the Pit first.

Defeat the Filthoids Nearby

Clear out the Filthoids near the entrance to the Glevum Pit.

Escort Donat Deeper into the Pit

Duet Night Abyss Scars That Won
Proceed deeper into the Pit. You can teleport to the bottom near the abandoned crates by the lift.

Defeat More Filthoids in the Area

Duet Night Abyss Scars That Won

Filthoids will spot you and attack as soon as you come around the lift. Defeat them and follow the quest marker to a small grave surrounded by the last group of Filthoids you need to defeat.

Duet Night Abyss Scars That Won

A cutscene will begin after you have successfully defeated the Filthoids. Donat will reveal that his friend, Sig, was buried in the grave. However, he will notice a ribbon left there by a woman named Violet, causing him to panic and beg you to take him back to Mist Aken.

When the cutscene ends you will receive the clue, The Violet Ribbon at Sig's Grave.

Teleport back to Mist Aken and make your way back to Donat's home, where Lars will be waiting.

Donat will explain his reasons for going to Glevum Pit in a long cutscene. He will describe the events that led to Sig's execution at the hands of the Escort 16 years ago.

By the end of the cutscene, you will gain a new clue: The Kidnapping Case Sixteen Years Ago.
