The developers are currently looking into the inconsistent Battle Pass XP gains when playing Zombies Mode, as stated on their Trello.
If you're keen on getting Battle Pass XP, perhaps Multiplayer is the mode to play until this issue is fixed. Stay tuned for further updates!

Restarting the Game is a Possible Fix
If you've spent a significant amount of time playing Zombies, try restarting the game and see if you've gained Battle Pass XP.
While it doesn't work 100% of the time, some players have reported that their Battle Pass progress has increased after restarting the game.
How to Get Battle Pass XP from Zombies
Gain More XP from Longer Matches
Battle Pass XP gained from Zombies mode increases the longer you play a match. Try to complete as much contracts as you can, and kill as much zombies as you can to get the most out of a match.
Exfil Successfully
Try not to stay too long in a match or you'll risk getting killed and lose your valuable items. An Aether Storm will engulf all Exfil Sites during the last 15 minutes of the match, and enemies will grow much stronger.
Don't overstay your welcome to get the maximum amount of XP!
