Rat Rut Attack Patterns

Oil Attacks

From a distance, Rat Ruts will try to hit you with Oil Attacks. These can be dodged and intercepted, but receiving too many hits from this type of attack will lead to you being inflicted with the Oiled Status Ailment, making you more prone to being Burned.

Spinning Attack

When trying to strike it with melee attacks from up close, it will try to spin its way out of trouble. Receiving hits from this Spinning Attack will knock you to the ground, which may make you vulnerable to Oil Attacks if you aren't careful.

Rat Rut Strategies

Break its Shell

Rat Ruts are not particularly difficult to defeat. You can break their shells from a distance by using Psychokinesis Attacks, or alternatively, use Sclerokinesis to shrug off their damage while coming in close for attacks.

Use Brain Crush

Once their shells have been breached, Rat Ruts will remain lying on the ground, stunned. Take this time to strike at them from up close, which quickly depletes their Crush Gauge. Use Brain Crush afterwards to finish them off.
