The cafe at the bottom part of the map, next to the team spawn point has a small nook in it, where you can hide and wait for players coming up the stairs from below.
The garage area at the northwestern side of the map at D4 has a roof you can climb onto. Best to get prone up here, since you will be visible from both sides.
In between the two pillars on Main Street at the right side of the map is a good place to hide from gunfire while protecting the Hardpoint rotation site.

There aren't a lot of places in Rio where you can camp long-range. Most of the time, you will either be indoors or navigating the short alleyways on the outskirts, which all have mid-range lines of sight.
Most of your encounters will take place inside the central mall, which takes up most of the entire map, and is the fastest route if you need to cross the whole map.

| The Rival-9 is a powerful SMG which is fast, handles well, has low recoil and is a killer choice for mid-to-close quarters combat in Rio. Hang around the mall area with this weapon to maintain dominance around the central part of the map. ・The Renetti has a lot of versatility, deals decent damage, has decent range and great mobility. It can provide a quick swap when your primary runs out of ammo. With the right mods on the Renetti, it can become a powerful sidearm and can even go up against SMGs, but only in a pinch. The Infantry Vest synergizes fantastically with the Renetti as well. |
