Armory Unlocks Explained

Armory Unlocks are new challenges to unlock guns, attachments, perks, and equipment in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 (MW3). Learn how to unlock and complete Armory Unlock challenges at level 25 and see a full list of all armory unlocks.

Reach Level 25

Upon reaching Level 25 players gain access to Armory Unlock Challenges which is a series of challenges that reward players with weapon unlocks, attachments, aftermarket parts, conversion kits, perks, equipment, field upgrades, and killstreaks.

Unlock Guns and Other Items Through Challenges

Modern Warfare 3 adds a new Armory feature that gives players an alternate way to unlock guns and other unlockables like attachments and equipment.

Leveling up still gives unlockable items, but players can now obtain some rewards at the higher levels earlier by completing Armory Unlock Challenges. Keep this in mind when choosing which reward to unlock first!

How to Level Up Fast

Activating and Queueing Challenges

Once you've chosen an item that you wish to unlock, simply activate it to start progressing through the challenge. You can queue up to three challenges so you don't need to keep going back to the Armory Unlocks screen, after completing a challenge.

Some attachment-specific challenges are also available at the Gunsmith and count towards the queue limit.

Complete Challenges to Unlock Rewards

Complete Armory Unlock Challenges by successfully doing Daily or Bonus Challenges. If you've finished all of your Daily Challenges, you can continuously complete Bonus Challenges to keep progressing your Armory Unlock Challenge.

Daily Challenges Not Working

In rare occassions, Daily Challenges do not progress or even work at all. This seems to be related to completing Daily Challenges before reaching Level 25 and there is currently no announcement from the developers regarding this bug.

Armory-Only Equipment and Perks

Some equipment and perks can only be unlocked through the Armory. Below is a list of unlockables that we recommend getting first as they are incredibly useful and only require a few challenges to be completed.

Equipment Unlock Priority

• Breacher Drone can instantly kill enemies on a direct hit.
• Semtex is an explosive that sticks to surfaces.
• Flash Grenade gain the upper hand in a gun fight by blinding and defeaning enemies.

Perk Unlock Priority

• Covert Sneakers eliminate footstep sounds so you can get the jump on enemies.
• Marksman Gloves reduce sway and flinch while ADS to hit more accurate shots.
• Ghost T/V conceals your position against enemy radar and UAVs.

Conversion Kits and Aftermarket Parts

Since Conversion Kits are locked behind the Weekly Challenges, you can bypass this time-gated queue by simply getting them via Armory Unlock challenges. This saves you from having to religiously log-in for all of MW3's pre-season period just to get Conversion Kits.

Aftermarket Parts (tied to Conversion Kits) are also another great option for unlocks since they are one of the only attachment types that can only be unlocked via Armory Unlock Challenges. If you're gunning for attachment completion, then make sure to set the challenges for these active!

Difficult-to-Unlock Attachments

Gone are the days of having to target-farm Weapon XP just to get the attachment you want. Now, players who want to unlock certain attachments for their favorite gun can do so without having to level up other weapons.

Note: To unlock specific attachments using the Armory Unlocks method, simply head over to the gunsmith and activate the challenge tied to the attachment you want by navigating to its attachment menu entry.

While not listed in the Armory Unlocks menu under Challenges, all attachments in MW3 will have corresponding challenges tied to them. This makes it easier to hunt down hard-to-obtain attachments tied to weapons that unlock at Account Level 55.

Calling Cards and Emblems

In addition to loadout-related unlocks, Armory Unlocks will also allow players to earn unique player card cosmetics like calling cards and emblems. Simply set these as your active challenge and complete your dailies to unlock them for your account.
