Forces All Enemies To Attack Only Itself

The Rick Dom (Thunderbolt) is the first unit in this game that can inflict the Provoke status effect, which draws all opponents to attack only the Rick Dom for the first 8 seconds of combat. This unit thrives on wasting the enemy's time trying to attack it for the first 8 seconds of combat, and in those 8 seconds, Rick Dom's teammates should have already been able to deal significant damage, putting them at an HP advantage whenever the opponents start to fight back.

The Rick Dom thrives on having allies who pack a punch and are able to capitalize on that small window to freely deal damage to their targets. It's also worth noting that this unit's Provoke will override the Target Focus status effect, so when facing a Char's Z'gok, the Rick Dom will be able to protect your Gundam-Type units.

To help the Rick Dom survive the onslaught of the entire opposing team, it receives a 25% max HP buff and a 480 HP heal each time it takes damage. While these are undoubtedly nice defensive bonuses to have, they won't save it from an entire team with big damage. That's one of the reasons why pairing it alongside units with high firepower works well, since having one or two fewer enemies attacking it will increase the chances it survives.

Deals Big Damage With Its EX Skill

Its EX Skill is a straightforward single-target attack that deals 1443% of its ATK. By itself, it's already quite potent, but it also receives stacking 3.5% more EX damage each time it's attacked for a maximum of 35% more damage. This high-damage burst can be fired off at a good rate of around every 12 seconds. It also deals some pretty good damage with its first and third weapons, as the Rick Dom receives a 36% projectile damage increase when transcended.

Needs Transcending To Do Its Job Better

Without the 25% max HP buff from its Transcendent Skills, it definitely won't be able to hold out for much when attacked by 6 mobile suits all at the same time. Transcending it is much more important than in other units since you'll want this unit to try and stay alive for at least the entire duration of its Provoke. The 36% projectile damage buff and the 50% EX Gauge restoration are also very nice bonuses to have, though the main reason you'll want to Transcend this unit is for the bonus HP.
