Fafnir Analysis

Instant Execute EX Skill

Fafnir is sort of like a cross between the well-rounded Baund Doc, and the Gaplant who can use its EX Skill right when the battle begins and hit the lowest HP enemy unit for good damage.

Its EX Skill hits the lowest HP enemy unit for 563% of its ATK, while buffing the Fafnir's beam damage by 50% and evasion by 36%, both for 20 seconds. This EX Skill can be cast almost as soon as the battle begins, thanks to its 99% EX gauge restoration skill. This is very useful considering that the lowest HP enemy unit is very often a high-priority target like the Zeong, and hitting it early with this EX Skill brings them below their HP thresholds needed to keep damage buffs active.

Extremely Well-Rounded

The Fafnir benefits from being one of the most well-rounded units in the game. It gets 48% max HP, 48% evasion, 48% damage taken down, and a 48% beam damage buff with its Skill 1. In exchange, it suffers from a self-inflicted critical rate debuff of 200%, meaning it cannot land any crits.

Its Skill 2, on the other hand, grants it a 200,000 damage cap increase, as well as three stacking buffs on evade. The first one increases beam damage by 14%, while the other two reduce the beam and projectile damage it takes by 14%. All three stacking buffs max out at 10 stacks or 70%. It'll take a while to get it stacks considering it only has 48% evasion, but that rises to 84% after using its EX Skill, and 134% when it's fully Transcended.

As for its weaponry, it's a Close Combat MS with 3 powerful beam sabers. It deals good amounts of damage with these, thanks to the multiple beam damage buffs it benefits from.

Much Stronger When Transcended

Fully Transcending this mobile suit grants it 50% evasion for the first 30 seconds of combat, 36% beam damage, and 25% max HP. The evasion is especially useful as having that active allows the Fafnir to have over 100% evasion. Opponents without Bullseye or Unavoidable will struggle against the Fafnir, and for attacks that do manage to go through, they'll be cushioned thanks to the damage resistance buffs this MS has equipped. Moreover, that 25% max HP buff makes this MS a lot more tanky, while the beam damage buff is a pretty standard and straightforward Transcendent Skill that just improves damage.

Potential Unleashed is also very important on this mobile suit as its execution EX damage and buff potency are tied to this process. However, you could still find the value out of this unit when at low Transcendent Levels as an all-arounder.

Overall, the Fafnir is kind of like a worse version of the Awakened Magna Martell in the sense that both these units are very well-rounded Red-type units with good damage and defense. Magna takes the edge over this unit as that one is equipped with Absolute Evade while also being able to crit. On the other hand, Fafnir's instant execute EX Skill can be a useful tool to hurt priority targets very early into the game, which the Magna Martell cannot do.

Fafnir is a good mobile suit that can fill multiple roles for both PvE and PvP.

When the Fafnir uses its EX Skill, it benefits from 114% more melee sense for 10 seconds, which brings the maximum total to a massive 354%. Sophie also improves the Fafnir's defense by granting it a 17% resistance buff, two 13% stacking resistance buffs on evade that each max out at 5 stacks or 65%, and a 13% stacking reaction buff on evade that max out at 5 stacks or 65%.
