Looking for the best pilots to fight Mobile Suit Gundam U.C. Engage's Arena? See our tier list to find out which pilots are the strongest against your fellow players!
Mobile Suit Gundam UC Engage's PvP possesses an entirely distinct ruleset to achieve victory compared to the other modes. There, the only thing that matters is which squad can emerge victorious against the other. That is why we ranked the pilots according to how well they can hold up on a match where the only goal is to completely annihilate the opposition by using the game's mechanics, and their skills and mobile suits.
These pilots are meta-defining elements of the mobile suit-pilot pairing. They provide the right stats with massive values to push their mobile suit to go above and beyond its base capabilities within the win-at-all-costs format of PvP. | |
These are the pilots who are a cut above the rest in terms of the value they provide within the PvP setting. Not only are their bonuses significant and effective, but they also do not operate using conditions detrimental to their squad’s effectiveness as a whole. | |
Serving as the standard for the others to compare themselves with, A-tier pilots are the units of choice for players who do not possess any of the higher-tier picks in this list. | |
Whilst neither being strong nor special, these pilots also tend to utilize situations that negatively impact your team as a whole. In addition, they usually do not provide the necessary stats to make an impact in PvP. | |
Pilots of this tier will struggle to compete in PvP due to their low stats, narrow distribution, disadvantageous skill conditions, etc., and should be replaced as soon as possible. |
Pilot | Description |

• .Ple-Twelve possesses the highest total melee sense and accuracy bonuses among UR-rarity pilots in the game, restricted only by their EX Skill activation requirement and short duration. • These caveats are almost entirely negated when she is paired with the Banshee (NT-D) due to its bulk and accelerated EX Gauge recovery. This gives the pair extremely potent and accurate burst damage opportunities with little downtime in between. | |
• Banagher Links provides a well-balanced combination of high-ranged sense, higher accuracy, and a massive amount of resistance to his mobile suit. • This set of bonuses, in combination with the Full Armor Unicorn Gundam's incredible bulk, allows it to become a persistent menace on the battlefield. Not only is it hard to destroy, but it also has a decent amount of firepower and the ability to buff its allies. And since it is a Generic-category mobile suit, its only real weakness is its type disadvantage against Green-type units. | |
• Marida Cruz is a powerful pilot who can impart a massive amount of melee sense to her mobile suit, as well as a respectable amount of evasion. And all she needs to do to maintain it is to consistently dodge attacks. • When paired with a transcended Kshatriya, the mobile suit becomes an absolute nightmare to face on the battlefield. The Kshatriya is difficult to damage using beam weapons, has a life steal effect, and extremely high evasion at max stacks. This gives it free rein to stun individual enemies and buff its allies' damage. Unfortunately, the Kshatriya still lacks accuracy for all but its Third Weapon. | |
• Kamille Bidan's skills are essentially a copy of Amuro Ray's, but with twice the accuracy. This immediately makes him a much better pilot than the latter. • Unlike the Nu Gundam, Kamille Bidan's Zeta Gundam is a purely offensive powerhouse. It can spam its EX Skill like no tomorrow, especially during the first 30 seconds of battle. Not only that, they combo with the Hyaku-Shiki's ability to inflict Unavoidable, dealing massive damage to troublesome mobile suits that rely on evasion to remain in battle. | |
• Danton Hyleg provides a set of buffs to his mobile suit that focuses almost exclusively on increasing its offensive stability and survivability. Since he only provides accuracy and resistance, don't expect his mobile suit to increase in damage when you let him pilot it. • The Zaku III Custom (TWA) functions in a similar manner to its pilot and focuses entirely on making itself the hardest thing to remove from the battlefield. But while the pair can definitely put a lot of damage onto the table during the long run, its lack of front-loaded damage puts it at a disadvantage if its allies are defeated during that time. | |
• One of the few pilots aside from Danton that can give an up to 70% Resistance buff to every Armored unit that has the "Heavy Armor" and "Armored" categories. • A good alternative to Danton Hyleg and miles better than the Io that's meant to pilot the Gundam Full Armor solely because of his buffs. Io's capable of piloting all currently relevant Armored units except the Over.on, which does not have the Heavy Armor category and will only get a 35% Resistance buff from him. | |
• This version of Char Aznable excels at granting two massive stacking ranged sense buffs (up to 150% each) to Blue-type and Bombardment MSs, especially benefiting units like the S Gundam and G-3 Gundam. • While these units lack high hit-count weapons to fully capitalize on the buffs, Char remains flexible across many MSs, particularly Bombardment types with high hit-count weapons. This makes him a must-have for the Zeong, with which he can utilize all his buffs to their fullest potential. |
Pilot | Description |
---|---|
• Shiro Amada is a deceptively average-looking pilot in terms of stats and skills. • However, when paired with the Gundam Ez8, his ability to accelerate its EX Gauge recovery becomes an insanely powerful tool to help his team clear the field, particularly allied Bombardment-category units. What's more, his reaction and guard rate buffs are available at the very start of the battle, making it a reliable buff against early-game bursts. | |
• Judau Ashta has very high ranged sense values with an emphasis on burst damage after his mobile suit uses its EX Skill. He also possesses a good amount of accuracy to assist with his damage output, and has no buff that expires even if the battle takes longer than 30 seconds. • While the ZZ Gundam is an extremely powerful glass cannon Bombardment-category mobile suit that can make good use of the stats Judau provides, it doesn't possess an accelerated EX Gauge recovery skill to use his large ranged sense activation requirements often. It is also vulnerable to mobile suit EX Skills that hit entire teams. | |
• Amuro Ray is a great pilot who has a decent amount of ranged sense, as well as some accuracy and reaction buffs. • Despite his rather average-looking kit, he is essential to make the Nu Gundam shine. Because of all of its supportive abilities, it also doubles as a competent attacker. Amuro Ray takes that trait to the next level by providing it with all the necessary stats to exceed its normal performance. | |
• Char Aznable's skillset is almost a carbon copy of Marida Cruz's, but instead of increasing his mobile suit's melee sense by a massive amount, he stacks an equally large ranged sense instead. • But unlike Marida Cruz's Kshatriya, an incredibly persistent frontliner, Char Aznable's Sazabi is a Generic-category support unit that prefers to stay on the midlines. This means that he has fewer opportunities to stack his ranged sense through evasion. Regardless, the pair make for a powerful combination with the right lineups. | |
• Roux Louka is a straightforward pilot who enhances her mobile suit's ranged sense and accuracy. In addition, she can raise those values even higher through her mobile suit's use of its EX Skill. • While Roux Louka certainly lacks the kind of burst damage capabilities that some of her peers possess, the fact that the S Gundam by itself is already an offensive powerhouse that can quickly use its EX Skill certainly helps. Her skills only serve to increase her mobile suit's offensive capabilities. In addition, because she is a standard banner pilot, she is a very easy pilot to invest in. | |
• Anavel Gato is a pilot who focuses on buffing his mobile suit's durability. While he does offer some ranged sense, it's insignificant compared to all of his resistance buffs. • But despite that, his Gundam GP02A is a timebomb that threatens entire enemy teams with explosive bursts of damage through its EX Skill. Anavel Gato's resistance buffs only really serve to make sure that his mobile suit lives long enough to use its EX Skill, considering that it does not possess any ability to accelerate its EX Gauge recovery. | |
• Mashymre Cello offers a set of buffs that lean on offensive improvements to his mobile suit. While his buffs are mostly average, with a particular emphasis on always being active aside from his resistance buffs, he does possess the rare ability to increase a mobile suit's EX Skill damage. • His EX Skill damage buff is very important for his Hamma-Hamma's EX Skill for it nukes the entire map with high damage, particularly against stunned enemies. In addition, due to its ability to stun enemies with the Unavoidable debuff, it combos very well with Hyaku-Shiki. | |
• Riddhe Marcenas possesses high amounts of melee sense hidden behind either an EX Skill use requirement or a time limit. This gives him large amounts of damage in burst windows in the first 30 seconds of each match. • Paired with the Banshee Norn, which possesses incredible amounts of accuracy, the pair can rapidly dispatch highly evasive mobile suits before they become much more troublesome threats later on in the match. | |
• Rosamia Badam is a pilot who specializes in early-game aggression and evasion. While she does not have the accuracy to support her melee sense, she does have the very rare EX Skill damage increase effect. • When paired with Gaplant, they can be an absolute menace in Arena with their ability to pick off low-HP targets with their enhanced EX Skill. Take note, however, that the pair is extremely fragile past the 30-second mark. | |
• Jona Basta has one of the highest evasion bonuses amongst his fellow pilots in the game, including a respectable amount of ranged sense. And while a good chunk of those bonuses are obtained after his mobile suit uses its EX Skill, it won't pose a problem given the Phenex (NT Version)'s accelerated EX Gauge recovery. • While his bonuses are indeed massive in short, essential bursts, the fact that his mobile suit tends to stay in the midlines means that it cannot make full use of its insanely high evasion stat. | |
• Peche Montagne is a very well-rounded pilot who has quite a decent spread of ranged sense, accuracy, and resistance buffs. While this may seem like an excellent set of bonuses for an Armored-category mobile suit, it also serves her mobile suit, the Psycommu System Zaku, very well due to its singular weakness to Green-type units. • Though Peche Montagne's buff may be noteworthy at best, she is pulled up rather hard by the excellence of her mobile suit, which is without a doubt one of the best supports for evasion-based units. Particularly, Kshatriya and Marida Cruz benefits from all aspects of the pair, allowing them to shrug off all damage with impunity. | |
• As a pilot to the Support-category mobile suit, the Doven Wolf (Commander Type), Rakan Dahkaran is in a unique position where his efficiency relies more on being able to make his mobile suit stay in battle for longer, as well as provide it more opportunity to use its EX Skill. While he certainly excels in the latter part, he exchanges survivability with firepower for the former. • While there is certainly nothing wrong with that, it also means that his mobile suit is very easy to destroy, provided that his enemies can pass through his Raid and Close Combat-category allies. | |
• Paptimus Scirocco is a great pilot that matches extremely well with how his The-O is designed. Specifically, he makes excellent use of The-O’s role as an evasion tank to stack incredible amounts of ranged sense and reaction. • While Paptimus Scirocco’s buffs make The-O an incredibly difficult threat to defeat, they do lack any sort of accuracy bonus to deal with the Raid-category mobile suits they should counter. And although they can inflict the Unavoidable debuff using their EX Skill, it only gives them burst window opportunities instead of more stable damage output. | |
• Has an up to 210% Ranged Sense buff that can stack quickly as long as the Green-type mobile suit she's piloting has a high hit count. • Gets better if she's piloting an MS with the "Qubeley-Type" and "Successor Unit" categories, which give her a 30% accuracy and another 77% ranged sense buff respectively. | |
• A good pilot for Yellow Generic mobile suits, as he can give them up to 150% melee and ranged sense buffs. • He gets a lot better, however, when he pilots the Yellow Sazabi (or other potential Yellow Generics with the "Rival Unit" and "Red Mobile Suit" categories, as Char gives the suit an additional 150% melee and ranged sense buff). This works particularly well for the Yellow Sazabi, since it heals itself by dealing damage. |
Pilot | Description |
---|---|
• Yuu Kajima is an extremely powerful pilot who can boost his melee sense and his mobile suit's accuracy for significantly large values. On top of that, he comes with a skill that increases his mobile suit's EX Gauge recovery; an exceedingly rare ability among his fellow pilots. • His Blue Destiny Unit-1 is similarly powerful. It has the unique ability to increase its EX Gauge recovery every time you defeat enemies in exchange for shredding its own defense. Having Yuu Kajima in its cockpit makes its EX Gauge recover even faster. Unfortunately, unless you're up against a lineup of bulky enemies, you really won't be able to enjoy the suit's full capabilities in Arena. On top of that, its specialization against Newtype Machines means that it'll only show its full power against very specific enemies. | |
• Amuro Ray's bonuses focus on providing his mobile suit more firepower at a stable rate. His decently high accuracy bonuses are essential when facing front liners that typically stack evasion whenever they can. It is, however, not typically important against most Armored-category units that his G-3 Gundam would counter. • While stray damage is near-omnipresent in PvP content, requiring his mobile suit to stay at a certain level of health below full means that he cannot fit into any lineup that tries to win by attrition. | |
• Full Frontal is one of the rare pilots who can increase his mobile suit's movement speed. This is immediately useful for his mobile suit, the Sinanju, as it is a Raid unit that needs it to immediately deal damage with its powerful melee attacks. • Unfortunately, he also has a skill that stacks ranged sense depending on how many enemies have been defeated in battle so far. While this is always nice to have, considering that the Sinanju does have decent ranged weapons, Full Frontal's movement speed bonus would have allowed it to benefit more from even higher melee sense. | |
• Shiro Amada is a pilot that can support either an evasive Raid-category mobile suit or a purely offensive Generic-category unit. This flexibility allows him to be a decent alternative for any mobile suit that may lack a better pilot. • But regardless of his ability to adapt to either category, the lack of any notably high values in his bonuses will always relegate him to a second choice for mobile suits at best. | |
• As one of the rare carriers of an ability to increase a mobile suit's EX Skill damage, Quattro Bajeena instantly qualifies himself for a decent position in the PvP Tier List. Not only that, he can make incredible use of that buff on his Hyaku Shiki, which has an EX Skill that can hit the entire enemy team for significant damage. • On the other hand, lacking any sort of accuracy bonuses between both of them means that they will have a tough time dealing against evasive Raid and Generic-category mobile suits. And although they can inflict the Unavoidable debuff, you may be hard-pressed to maintain it without an accessible target. | |
• Norris Packard is a melee generalist that can support either a Raid or Close Combat-category mobile suit quite decently. He provides a good amount of melee sense, and a bit of evasion and accuracy for those typically-fragile units. • Although a large part of his melee sense buff relies on the very unwelcome condition of an ally being destroyed, this still has the potential to make an impact on the fight unlike Daryl Lorenz, whose ally destruction-reliant buff only provides an accuracy boost. | |
• Banagher Links is a great pilot that can adapt to the situation as the battle progresses. By default, he possesses a barely acceptable ranged sense stat when Raid and Armored-category allies are still maintaining the front line. But when that front line collapses, he can quickly stack melee sense to a respectable value, allowing him to deal with the incoming tide of enemies. • Unfortunately, it's quite hard to work with his bonuses by that stage, considering his very low accuracy buff. | |
• Cima Garahau possesses incredible amounts of ranged sense, particularly during the first 30 seconds of battle. She also has a high total accuracy bonus, which is topped up for a few seconds after she uses her EX Skill. Since this is also true for a good chunk of her ranged sense, this means that Cima Garahau works well to improve her mobile suit's burst damage. • Her main caveat is that her Gundam GP04 does not possess any skills to increase her EX Gauge recovery. That means there are only very few windows to take advantage of her high-ranged sense stat early on, considering that most of it expires after 30 seconds. | |
• Peche Montagne is a generalist who possesses large amounts of both melee and ranged sense, as well as decent amounts of evasion and accuracy. She can be slotted easily into the cockpit of most Engage-type mobile suits without losing anything. • Unfortunately, despite her incredible bonuses, she loses practically all of it after 30 seconds. Afterward, she will have a lot of trouble against enemy units that can maintain their performance in an extended fight, especially against bulky and hard-to-hit pairs such as Kshatriya and Marida Cruz. | |
• Dorel Ronah is a wonderful answer against mobile suits and pilots who have difficulty hitting their enemies due to low accuracy. Not only does he increase his melee sense through dodging, but his Berga-Dalas also heals itself and grows stronger at the same time. This allows them more leeway to take hits and gain more stats in the process. • The pair has two issues, however. Its first problem is that both of their ramping stacks can take a while to complete, especially against high-accuracy pairs such as Jona Basta and Phenex (NT Version). But the most pressing concern, considering their over-reliance on evading attacks, is that they lose almost their entire evasion bonus after 30 seconds, rendering most of their skills useless. | |
• Riddhe Marcenas provides a straightforward set of offensive buffs to his mobile suit, namely a boost in its ranged sense and accuracy. • The one condition players have to be mindful of is that he stacks his own ranged sense buff by hitting enemies. Hence, he will have trouble against pairs that possess excessive evasion stats, such as Pale Rider (Space Type) and Chloe Croce | |
• Chloe Croce operates in an extremely straightforward manner: be extremely hard to hit, and grow stronger whenever you evade. When paired with her mobile suit, the Pale Rider (Space Type), they can stack so much evasion that it's really scary. This is especially true against enemies with the Newtype Machine unit category, as the pair are especially powerful against them. • They have one massive drawback, though: their entire evasion bonus simply disappears after 30 seconds. While the Pale Rider isn't affected by this too much, the same unfortunately cannot be said for Chloe Croce, as having no evasion boost renders all of her skills almost entirely useless. As an aside, since the Pale Rider prefers being in the midline, there are not many opportunities for it to evade attacks. | |
• Zoltan Akkanen fulfills one of the niche gimmicks for certain mobile suits: critical hits. Both he and his Sinanju Stein scale off of successful critical hits, which increases their firepower and evasiveness. • Despite lacking in accuracy, Zoltan Akkanen's skills perform really well due to Sinanju Stein's preference to tackle Generic-category mobile suits immediately, which often do not possess high evasion. However, like many of his peers, a good chunk of his abilities lose effectiveness after 30 seconds, particularly due to Sinanju Stein losing most of its passive critical hit rate. | |
• Sporting a purely offensive spread of melee and ranged sense, as well as a fair bit of accuracy, Jutta Qasim is a unique pilot among those who pilot Raid-category mobile suits like his Varguil (Gundam Head). • While the values behind his skills are pretty impressive, his ranged and melee bonuses overlap on EX Skill usage. Additionally, a good chunk of his melee sense and all of his accuracy boost expires after 30 seconds, which, for a pilot handling a Raid-category mobile suit, is far from ideal. | |
• Jutta Qasim is a case where the pilot will not work without his mobile suit, which in this case is the Moon Gundam. He provides a massive amount of reaction and melee sense that scales off of the times his mobile suit evades attacks. But while the Moon Gundam's evasion does expire completely after 30 seconds, Jutta Qasim should have already stacked enough reaction to indirectly remedy the situation. • His main issue is that, despite all the buffs for their firepower, the pair will find it extremely difficult to hit the frontlines after 30 seconds as Jutta Qasim's accuracy will completely expire by then. In addition, due to the volatility of evasive tactics, it's highly likely that both his and his mobile suit's bonuses will expire long before they can make use of them past the 30-second mark. | |
• Designed to fit in the cockpit of every Banshee-type mobile suit, most of Riddhe Marcenas' skills are as varied as they are unimpressive. Although he does have high melee sense, he doesn’t have nearly enough accuracy to support it against evasive frontliners. His evasion bonus is also quite low, regardless of his bonus reaction stat. • Due to being designed as a sort of generalist between the three Banshee mobile suits, he doesn’t quite excel in supporting any of them. The closest that fits his skillset is the Banshee, which uses evasion as one of its means to heal itself. And the pair is a potent duo, albeit not offensively so. | |
• Can be used in other Red-type units with the "High Mobility" and "High Firepower" unit categories, but his other buffs (higher ranged sense, accuracy) are contingent on unit categories exclusive to the Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway series, limiting his usefulness. | |
• Due to his ranged sense and accuracy buffs kicking in with fairly common requirements ("Prototype" and "White Mobile Suit"), Amuro Ray can be a useful pilot for Purple-type Mobile Suits such as the Sisquiede (Titans Color). | |
• Haman Karn is the best pilot for her canon mobile suit, the Qubeley, with her stacking ranged sense buffs, reaction buff, and accuracy increases. However, if you don't have the Qubeley, she can only be used as a pilot for other generic Purple-type mobile suits. | |
• Can be a good pilot once more Red-type Support mobile suits come out, with her EX gauge recovery and accuracy buffs. | |
• Though she's better to use with her canon mobile suit, Titania, she would also be good to use with any new Close Combat mobile suits that have still yet to debut in the game, with her melee sense, accuracy, and evasion buffs. | |
• Banagher's ranged sense buffs make him a good pilot for other Green Generic mobile suits aside from the Gundam Unicorn Perfectibility, though they'll also have to have the Psycho-Frame Type and High Firepower unit categories to get his Accuracy buffs as well. | |
• Kamille's C0190 version isn't just good for the Zeta Gundam (Hyper Mega Launcher), but other Purple-types that have the "High Firepower" category such as the Sisquede Titans Color. • This is because his first skill gives him a 128% ranged boost buff, while the second skill gives a 19% Critical Rate buff. Both of these buffs are already good on their own, but if the unit also has the "Bombardment," "Newtype Machine," "Protagonist Unit," and "Gryps War" categories, the mobile suit will also get further ranged sense and accuracy buffs. | |
• Capable of piloting a bunch of Purple Generics such as the Gundam F91, Qubeley, Crossbone Gundam X1, and others including her own Engage Zero Psycommu Test Type. She will give them a combined 62% ranged sense buff. | |
• Another pilot that can be useful in a variety of Generic mobile suits with the "Gundam-type" category and give them a combined 24% accuracy buff. • Aside from performing the best when in his Crossbone Gundam X1, Kincade will also be useful as long as his mobile suit has the "White Mobile Suit" and "Gundam-type." | |
• A useful pilot for Purple Raid-types in general, not just the Gundam Pixy. These include the Banshee (NT-D), the Blue Destiny Unit-1, and the Varguil (Gundam Head). • She has an up to 120% melee sense buff on top of a 20% evasion buff that lasts for 30 seconds after the start of the battle. The damage she can deal rises further if her mobile suit has the "Gundam-Type" and "Rival Unit" categories. | |
• For most Green Generic mobile suits that focus on ranged attacks, Christina is a decent pilot that can raise their attack power for the first minute of battle with her Ranged Sense boosts. "One Year War" units get an additional 20% accuracy boost. | |
• Capable of giving valuable Armored units such as the Gundam Full Armor, The-O, and the GP02A an up to 70% Resistance Bonus, making him a good alternative pilot if you don't have Danton or Io's Rick Dom version. | |
• A good substitute pilot for Yellow Generics, but not exactly the best (as his 77% ranged sense buff isn't the highest and units like the Yellow Sazabi have no need for his Accuracy buff). Still, he is useful to have if you happen to get him, and he performs the best when paired with the Dag Doll because of the increased damage it will do to units affected by the "Jamming" debuff | |
• A good substitute pilot for Support mobile suits as she comes with an 18% EX Gauge recovery buff (like other Support-centric pilots). |
Pilot | Description |
---|---|
• Daryl Lorenz is the kind of pilot who likes to live on the edge. He opts to grow stronger whenever his allies are downed in an attempt to make up for the lost unit with raw stats. While it does work in Arena, the philosophy and values behind it put him in a precarious spot in the rankings • The Psycho Zaku works a lot like Daryl Lorenz in that it becomes stronger when an ally dies. However, it's also a very stable mobile suit with high damage modifiers, particularly against Gundam-type enemies. | |
• A pilot for a ranged damage dealer, Daryl Lorenz provides a set of buffs that focus entirely on improving his partner's firepower. Through his respectable ranged sense and accuracy bonuses, the Zaku I With Big Gun can reliably deal with those pesky Raid-category enemies before they can approach. • His biggest caveat is that a large fraction of his accuracy buff is only obtained once an ally is destroyed. Considering that the loss of an entire mobile suit and pilot pair is only rewarded by an accuracy bonus, using Daryl Lorenz is an incredibly risky affair where his buff comes in too late to utilize. | |
• Char Aznable provides a variety of buffs to his mobile suit that is neither good nor necessary. Due to having a somewhat balanced spread between melee and ranged sense, he unfortunately doesn’t specialize in either. Couple that with his very unimpressive evasion bonus, and Char Aznable eventually comes out as a disappointing pilot. | |
• Kou Uraki is a pilot who has the potential to scale to amazing heights. Particularly, he possesses a high ranged sense and reaction buffs that increase in value by dodging attacks. However, he relies excessively on his mobile suit due to his low evasion passive. • Even so, the Gundam GP01Fb unfortunately doesn’t possess nearly enough evasion to make good use of its pilot’s skills. | |
• This version of Char Aznable is an almost carbon copy of his C0004 form, but instead of gaining windows of opportunity through EX Skill usage, he scales off of evading attacks instead. • Among the two, this version does come out slightly ahead due to allowing more reaction stat, as opposed to going all in on ranged and melee sense. This gives his Zaku I (Char) more breathing room during battle, at least. | |
• Uso Erwin combines firepower and stability with a touch of survivability to round them out. Not only that, the values are balanced between themselves, making him a great choice for Generic-category mobile suits such as his Victory Gundam. • Unfortunately, none of those values are even remotely significant enough to be worth considering outside of an emergency. On top of that, since a significant fraction of Uso Erwin’s melee and ranged sense bonuses come after an EX Skill, the Victory Gundam can’t make good use of it due to its own lack of any EX Gauge recovery acceleration. | |
• Amuro Ray is a pilot who focuses on improving the general performance of his mobile suit on the field. Particularly, the value of his resistance can reach staggering values if enough stacks are achieved. • Unfortunately, that means he has no way to access those stacks right when he needs them the most — during the beginning of the match. | |
• Banagher Links possesses a set of skills that work on a niche gimmick certain mobile suits specialize in: critical hits. While unreliable, these offer high damage that’s difficult to resist through normal means available to most mobile suits and pilots. • But without the accuracy necessary to hit evasive frontliners, particularly most Raid-category units, it’s a difficult sell for PvP. | |
• Anavel Gato provides a decent balance of melee and ranged sense stats, as well as a fair bit of resistance. This allows his Gato’s Rick Dom to exist as an offensive threat on the battlefield, instead of being just a bullet sponge. • While Gato’s Rick Dom’s main weapon is certainly threatening, Anavel Gato doesn’t provide any accuracy bonuses at all. This is a major oversight, as most of the Raid-category mobile suits that Armored units counter tend to steep themselves in evasion bonuses. | |
• Char Aznable is a stereotypical pilot for Raid-category mobile suits who provides the usual lineup of melee sense, evasion, and a small bonus in reaction — none of them at significant values. • Overall, Char Aznable just doesn’t provide enough stats to make him a significant contributor in PvP, regardless of how easy it is to find mobile suits that meet his skill requirements. | |
• Char Aznable’s Origins version is an exact replica of the Mobile Suit Gundam version, down to the last letter. • Like the latter, Char Aznable suffers from mediocre stats and bonuses across all of his skills, making him an extremely unappealing choice for a mobile suit pilot for PvP. | |
• Io Fleming, despite possessing the incredibly robust Gundam Full Armor (Thunderbolt), is a woefully average pilot who provides a lot of ranged sense but not a lot of accuracy. This means that he’ll be hard-pressed to fight against the Raid-type mobile suits that his mobile suit should counter due to their tendency to rely on evasion. • In addition, his skill conditions require him to be placed inside the cockpit of a sturdy Purple-type mobile suit. So if the Gundam Full Armor (Thunderbolt) isn’t available to you, you'll have a severely limited selection of other mobile suits to put him in. | |
• Can be used with other Generic mobile suits with the High Mobility and Prototype unit categories, but can only really make use of his full potential when paired with the Gundam F91. | |
• Considering that she can be acquired for free, she can be useful when put into any Red-type mobile suit with the High Mobility unit category. | |
• Potentially useful to pair with other Green Close Combat mobile suits, but otherwise only good to use with her Dijeh (Luio & Co.). | |
• A specialist pilot that should be considered S-tier when piloting his signature mobile suit, the Penelope, but B-tier otherwise since the other two useful Armored units he can reliably pilot are the Xi Gundam and the Zock. | |
• Though he is capable of piloting many Blue-type units and giving them decent buffs such as 46% more ranged sense and increased accuracy, the only "good" unit Amuro Ray will be able to pilot is the Full Armor Unicorn Gundam. | |
• A pilot with an up to 300% ranged sense buff, but this will only activate when he's in units with the "Zanscare War" category, which only the V2 Gundam, Victory Gundam, and a few other units have. | |
• Limited usefulness due to one of his Resistance buffs needing the "Mafty-Affiliated" category to work, and the other Resistance buff needing the "Red Mobile Suit" category to work. Otherwise, you won't get any Resistance buffs from him, and Resistance buffs are the most important ones to have for Armored units. | |
• Alma Stirner is good for her Titania, as well as the Byarlant Custom and the Blue Gundam, but little else outside of that since her melee sense buffs only benefit those units. She could also be useful for Close Combat units in general, but there's a chance that her 13% accuracy buff on evading might not even trigger because Close Combat units like the Banshee Norn have little Evasion (and don't have the "One Year War" category that would've activated Alma's 10% evasion buff. | |
• M'Quve is a decent choice for Support mobile suits, as he offers an 18% EX gauge recovery boost like all other Support pilots. • However, he's only really essential for the Gyan, as he provides it a 17% accuracy buff, 10% max HP increase, and stacking ranged sense buffs up to 120%, making that mobile suit significantly more effective. |
Pilot | Description |
---|---|
• Sayla Mass is a generalist that provides ranged sense and accuracy for any Yellow or Purple-type mobile suit. While these are great buffs to have on Generic, Bombardment, or Sniper-category units, the ranged sense bonus doesn't total to any significant value compared to her peers. • Due to the limited stats she can impart, it's recommended to replace her with a better pilot as soon as you can. | |
• Kamille Bidan is a strange case of a pilot who doesn’t fit well inside the cockpit of his canonical mobile suit. In a vacuum, he can provide a significant amount of reaction, plus a small amount of melee sense, ranged sense, and accuracy. But don’t be fooled by his massive reaction buff. It scales off of evading attacks, but neither he nor his Gundam Mk-II (Titans) possess any passive evasion bonuses. | |
• Shin Matsunaga is a UR-rarity pilot who skirts the border between his peers and those that belong in the SR rarity. That is due to his incredibly bad skills that could even be matched by several of the lower-rarity pilots. • Not only does his skill condition mean that he only has access to his ranged sense buff at certain intervals, but the value behind it is so low that you’re better off slotting an SR-rarity pilot onto the Zaku III Custom (TWA) for consistency. | |
• Michel Kano not only possesses low bonuses to melee sense and evasion, but she is also one of the very few pilots that will intentionally sabotage their own unit if placed inside a mobile suit with the Protagonist Unit unit category. • This major caveat severely restricts the number of mobile suits she can pilot, despite having very easy-to-meet skill requirements for her other skills. | |
• Amuro Ray is essentially a marginally better Shin Matsunaga, whose buffs are both unreliable and low in value. • But even if he is slightly stronger, that doesn’t mean he qualifies for any rank above where his peer sits. His Gundam (THE ORIGIN) will benefit more from other pilots. | |
• Kou Uraki possesses a decent ranged sense buff, a low melee sense buff, and — well, that’s it. • Not only does he not provide any other useful stat, but an unfortunately large chunk of his ranged sense and melee sense bonuses are also hidden behind an EX Skill use requirement, which is something that his Gundam GP01 isn’t particularly good at cycling repeatedly. | |
• Jerid Messa is a generalist who’s ironically held back by his incredibly difficult-to-meet skill requirements. Not only that, but the total values behind his skills are deceptively small in value, which often makes the effort of matching him with a mobile suit not worth it. • As if to add insult to injury, his melee sense and ranged sense buffs are also mostly accessible through the use of EX Skills, which means that he needs to pilot a mobile suit that can cycle it often. | |
• Jona Basta provides a decent amount of reaction, as well as a fair bit of melee sense and a small amount of ranged sense to his mobile suit. • While that should have been enough to land him in a higher tier, he also has the misfortune of having almost all of his bonuses hidden behind troublesome skill conditions. For one, his reaction stat only grows whenever an enemy is defeated, which is bad because it’s something better utilized early on. Then he also has most of his melee sense buff accessible through EX Skill usage, which is something that his Narrative Gundam isn’t good at cycling often. | |
• Aina Sakhalin is a generalist pilot who can provide a bit of melee sense and evasion to any Red, Blue, or Green-type mobile suit. These are excellent buffs for Raid, Close Combat, and some Armored and Generic-category mobile suits. Unfortunately, she doesn’t provide nearly enough of these values to make a big impact. | |
• Saphira Gardner is, unfortunately, just a downgraded version of Aina Sakhalin. Not only does she lack the ability to support Blue-type mobile suits, but she also possesses a small ranged sense bonus that would overlap with her melee sense buff. On top of that, all of her skills are only activated whenever her mobile suit uses its EX Skill. • She also suffers more than her peer in her unit choices, as she now also requires a Prototype unit category mobile suit to gain access to her ranged sense buff. | |
• Ubaldo Morina is one of the very few pilots in the game who can sabotage his own mobile suit’s stats if placed on one with the Psycho-Frame Type unit category. Additionally, his bonuses are focused entirely on survivability, which doesn’t help many mobile suits aside from Armored and some Generic-category ones. • Considering that the end goal in PvP is to defeat the enemy team, not having any bonuses to ranged sense, melee sense, accuracy, and such makes him quite undesirable for the mode. | |
• Non is only good for piloting Qubeley-type mobile suits, though so far only Haman Karn's Qubeley is the best to use among them, and Non will only be able to give it 14% accuracy and evasion buffs. | |
• Similar to Non, Rey is only capable of giving 14% accuracy and evasion buffs to Qubeley-type mobile suits, severely limiting her usefulness. |
