The Zeong is a Blue-type Bombardment mobile suit that has earned a lot of hype basically since the game was released, and for good reason. This is mainly because of two things. The first is its AoE EX skill that deals 435% ATK as damage, and deals bonus damage against Protagonist units worth 326%, while also increasing the damage of Zeon Forces-Affiliate allies by 25%, including the Zeong itself. This EX skill can decimate entire teams, especially if most of their mobile suits are Protagonist units.

To make this even more threatening, the Zeong, at Transcendent Lv. 5, gains a 50% EX gauge charge when the battle begins, so it'll fire it off very quickly.

High Damage Multi-Hit Weapons

Against the Zeong, surviving its EX skill is only half the objective, since it gets even stronger from there. If the EX skill didn't kill its opponents, its multi-hit weapons supercharged by the 25% damage buff, on top of even more beam damage buffs will finish the job.

With an extremely powerful EX skill and high damage weaponry, the Zeong is the premier DPS unit of the game, whose only weaknesses is its reliance on staying healthy and needing more protection than the other top carries like the Sazabi.

How to Get the Zeong?

Available in the Super Limited Mobile Suit Assembly Banner

Unfortunately, the Zeong is a mobile suit from the Super Limited Mobile Suit Assembly Banner, and if you weren't able to get it when the banner was active, you will only be able to try your luck on the next Super Limited MS Assembly Banner. Once this banner comes, you'll have only a small chance of pulling it, so really try to hoard as many Diamonds as you can if this is your objective.

Which Pilot Should You Assign in the Zeong?

Char Aznable [C0204]

[C0204] Icon[C0204] Char Aznable

Char Aznable is by far the best pilot for the Zeong, with 2 stackable ranged sense buffs that both go up to 150%. Because the Zeong's weapons have high hit-counts, it can quickly reach the maximum cap of 300% ranged sense, greatly improving its damage output. Char also somewhat covers for the Zeong's weakness of not having much accuracy, bringing its total up to 49%.

Roux Louka

[C0109] Icon[C0109] Roux Louka

Roux is the next best pilot for the Zeong, though she's not nearly as good. She'll grant 64% ranged sense off rip, and another 57% for 10 seconds when it activates its EX skill, so that's a total of just 121%. She also grants 15% accuracy, which is nice given that the Zeong isn't very accurate. All these make Roux a solid pilot for the Zeong, though the gap between her and Char really is that big. Some people have reported the Zeong to lose about 20% of its firepower when replacing Char with Roux, so having Char on board really makes a night and day difference.

Which Other MS is Best as Zeong's Replacement?

Yellow Sazabi

Mobile Suit Gundam U.C. Engage - Sazabi [THE LIFE-SIZED v Gundam STATUE] IconSazabi [THE LIFE-SIZED v Gundam STATUE]

Out of all the other units in the game, only the Yellow Sazabi is on par with the Zeong in terms of both popularity and impact on the meta. These two units are meta-defining for their sheer power and combat effectiveness.

The Sazabi and the Zeong approach battle in different ways. The Zeong is a backline AoE threat with strong beam damage while the Sazabi is a lifestealing bruiser with tons of sustained damage. The Zeong will need protection around it to prevent it from dying too early, while the Sazabi, although best when somewhat protected, can get away with being placed anywhere as long as it doesn't get countered or ganged up on. It also can fit into almost any team composition.

While they're both very different units, they're both extremely powerful units worth being the centerpiece of your team and building around them.

Zeta Gundam (Hyper Mega Launcher)

Though not as powerful as the Sazabi or the Zeong, the Zeta HML is the next best bombardment for both PvE and Arena. Like the regular Zeta Gundam, the HML is an EX spammer as well and a single-target ranged threat. Its weapons, while having low hit counts, hit absolutely hard and can definitely make use of that damage cap bonus.

The Zeong is undoubtedly the better bombardment, but the Zeta HML isn't by any means bad, and is also worth building a team around.

Titania

Mobile Suit Gundam U.C. Engage - Titania IconTitania

If you need another Blue-type DPS, the Titania is the next best thing. It's a potent melee fighter with excellent sustain given its evasion, absolute evade, and heal on evade mechanic. It's also an EX spammer given that it charges up 5% of its EX gauge when evading, and it's really good at that so its EX gauge fills up rather quickly. In the right circumstances, the Titania could snowball and completely take over matches, much like The-O would in its prime.
