Ways To Get Blueprints and Character Pieces

Pull From The Gacha

Gacha Blueprint - Gundam UC Engage

Pulling from the different unit assembly banners is a quick way to stock up on different MSs and pilots, provided you have enough Diamonds to spend. You'll get large amounts at a time (25 for R, 50 for SR, 125 for UR), but the units you get them for are entirely up to the game. With this method, there's no guarantee that you'll get the specific blueprints or pieces you need, unless it's for a limited unit with a dedicated banner.

Grind Fragment Quests

Fragment Quest - Gundam UC Engage

Fragment quests are a guaranteed source of blueprints and character pieces. Each fragment quest stage has one or two levels, which you can each challenge three times a day. Every time you beat the challenge, you're guaranteed to get at least 1 fragment of the featured pilot or MS. The grind will definitely be quite long since you'll only get a limited amount of them a day, so make sure you do these as often as possible.

There's only a selected number of featured units to grind for, but some of them are very powerful and well worth the trouble. Examples are the Char's Zaku II and the Gundam Full Armor along with their signature pilots, Char Aznable[C0004] and Io Fleming[C0039] respectively.

Buy Them From The Shop

Shop Blueprints - Gundam UC Engage

The shop is also another way to get large amounts of specific blueprints. There are blueprints that you can buy with Clan Medals, Arena Medals, Friend Medals, Grand Coins, and Haro Coins. Pilot pieces, however, can only be bought with Silver Haro Coins and Grand Coins. Once again, there's only a limited selection of units to buy blueprints or pieces for with this method. Similarly to Fragment Quests, there are some very strong units here that are well worth your medals and coins.

Do Featured Unit Events

Event Blueprints and Pieces - Gundam UC Engage

A lot of events are tied with special MSs and characters. In these events, blueprints and pieces are often rewarded by playing these game modes or acquiring specific MSs and characters. These also often have specific event-related achievements that grant you even more upgrade fragments when completed.

How to Use Blueprints and Character Pieces

1

At the Home Screen, select the "Squad" button.
2

In the Squad menu, select "Mobile Suit List."
3

If you've gathered a certain amount of Blueprints (usually 200 or so), the mobile suit those Blueprints (or Character Pieces if you're assembling Pilots instead) can assemble will light up.
4

In the mobile suit's info menu, select "Manufacture."
5

You will be shown how many Blueprints will be used, as well as how many Coins you will have to spend.
6

Congratulations! Your mobile suit has been assembled. Assembling a pilot follows a similar process.

Why Should You Grind For Blueprints and Character Pieces?

Potential Unleashed - Gundam UC Engage

Since there's no guaranteed way to get non-event units from the gacha, stocking up on blueprints is an excellent way to unlock the specific units you want.

More importantly, unleashing a unit's potential is exactly what it sounds like, and significantly improves their base stats, and in some cases, their EX Skill as well. This will result in an overall better version of the said unit. If you're looking to challenge some of the later stages of the game, or wish to be highly competitive in PvP, aiming to stock up on blueprints and character pieces for the units on your team should be one of your top priorities.
