Judau Ashta Review

Judau Ashta offers stacking resistance buffs of up to 70% to Heavy Armor units, which is just as much as the top substitute pilots for Armored units, Danton Hyleg and Io Fleming. All Armored mobile suits except for the Over.On fall under this unit category tag, so almost all of them can make use of this skill.

The downside is that instead of getting stacks by taking hits, you'll need to deal damage to get stacks. This makes Judau less versatile than both Danton and Io, since not all mobile suits have multi-hit weapons that can quickly get these stacks. There's a good number of Armored units with high hit-count weapons, but funnily enough, the ZZ-GR, Judau's signature MS, isn't exactly great at getting these stacks.

One thing that makes Judau situationally better than Danton and Io is that he grants 10% max HP to all Armored units. Danton doesn't have this at all while Io does, but grants it only to Dom-Type units, which only the Rick Dom Thunderbolt and Gato's Rick Dom can benefit from.

Judau also grants a 38% ranged sense boost to Yellow-type mobile suits, and a stacking ranged sense buff on dealing damage for High Firepower MSs which maxes out at 120%.

Overall, Judau is arguably the best substitute pilot for Armored units with high hit-count weapons given that he grants both a 70% resistance buff alongside a 10% max HP buff. However, not all units can get stacks quickly, so Danton and Io are still a lot more versatile than Judau given that it's easier to reap the benefits of their resistance buffs.

Judau improves both the durability and ranged damage of the ZZ-GR as it's able to benefit from all its buffs. One downside is the ZZ-GR's lack of high hit-count weapons, as a full rotation from all 3 weapons still wouldn't be able to max out all 10 resistance stacks.
