Narrative Gundam Analysis

Buffs Red-Type Units

The Narrative Gundam is a farmable mobile suit from Fragment Quests best known for its ability to buff up allied Red-type damage.

Its EX skill deals 502% ATK damage, and more importantly, buffs the damage of all allied Red-type mobile suits by 22%. When fully Transcended, the damage buff increases by another 11%, bringing the total damage buff up to 33%.

This buff improves all types of damage, including EX skill damage, and is useful for buffing powerful Red-type mobile suits. Because of this EX skill, it is a good early to mid-game unit that can improve Red-type mono-type teams for PvE, while also being a good mobile suit to field alongside borrowed strong Red-type DPS units to further enable them to carry your team. In the late game, however, you won't be using mono-type teams anymore, and you'll probably have access to better support units like the Gundam Ez8. At that point in the game, you won't really need the Narrative Gundam anymore.

A Buffer And Not Much Else

Outside of its Red-type buffing capabilities, it's not really good at anything else. It benefits from a 20% beam damage buff for the first 30 seconds of combat, and each time an ally falls in battle, it gets 16% bonus damage for 20 seconds. Finally, it has an 11% beam damage resistance buff. None of these skills particularly stand out, and that's because they're not very good skills.

Its beam damage buffs don't amount to much at all, and one of them needs its allies to fall in battle too, which is one of the worst conditions to fulfill for skills. Its weapons also aren't good, as it is a Raid unit with 1 melee weapon and two subpar ranged weapons. You can't rely on this unit to deal damage, and you can't expect it to take many hits either, thanks to the lack of any defensive skills other than a weak 11% beam damage resistance buff.

Not Worth Transcending

This mobile suit gets its Third Weapon when Transcending once, and when fully Transcended, its Third Weapon deals 70% more beam damage, and its EX skill Red-type buff is enhanced by 11% as discussed above. While it does become a better support when Transcending it, doing so isn't really worth it as it's not really something you'd use once you've gotten far in the game. Save your Rainbow Haro Coins for stronger and more impactful meta mobile suits that you can use across multiple game modes.

Overall, the Narrative Gundam is a good beginner PvE unit, mainly for its usefulness in teams with multiple Red-type units, and in PvE content where you intend to buff powerful borrowed MSs from clanmates and friends. It's a Fragment Quest mobile suit, so you'll eventually get this unit to Potential Lv. 5 for as long as you're consistent with your Haro farming.

Jona Basta grants his signature Narrative Gundam 64% ranged sense, and 38% melee sense for the entire match, and he gives it another 57% melee sense for 10 seconds after using its EX skill. He also grants a stacking 17% reaction for each time an allied mobile suit is defeated, though this isn't really useful since it'll probably die soon after the tank dies given its lack of defenses.

Because of its role as a Red-type buffer and since there are no pilots who can accelerate its EX gauge recovery, the Narrative Gundam's pilot doesn't really matter since it won't deal much damage nor will it survive for long regardless of the buffs it receives from pilots.
