Magna Martell (Awaken) Analysis

High EX Skill Damage

The Awakened Magna Martell is a well rounded Generic mobile suit with lots of things going for it. Let's start with its EX Skill first.

Awakened Magna Martell's EX Skill is a single-target attack that deals 1155% of its ATK, which is an extremely large multiplier for a non-Armored unit. It also increases its beam damage by 50%. Like with many other units, this MS can use its EX Skill early into the match when fully Transcended, as it has a 50% EX gauge restoration skill that it uses at the start of the battle.

Best PvE Debuffer So Far

Magna Martell is the best PvE debuffer so far, being better than the likes of the Phenex, Alex, and Cima's Gelgoog Marine. Right when the battle begins, Magna permanently debuffs a targeted enemy to make it take 48% more damage from all sources, including EX Skill damage. It also inflicts a stacking 1.4% increase damage taken debuff on the same targeted enemy for each time Magna Martell deals damage (that maxes out at 14%). When at max stacks, it makes an enemy take 62% more damage, which is the most out of the other three PvE debuffers that we've mentioned.

Phenex, Alex, and Cima's Gelgoog's debuffs are all tied to their EX Skills, so you'll need to perform Potential Unleashed on them 5 times to be able to get their debuffs to their maximum potency. Meanwhile, Magna Martell's debuffs are tied to its Skill 1, so you only need 1 copy if your main goal is to use it as a debuffer. Magna's debuffs are valued at 62%, Phenex at 60%, and the other 2 at just 50%, which may not seem like a big difference, but 12% more damage is a pretty big deal. Finally, Magna Martell's debuffs affect all forms of damage, while the other 3 affect just beam and projectile damage.

As a debuffer for Raid and Co-op battles, Magna Martell is unmatched.

Becomes Extremely Strong When HP Is Halved

Awakened Magna Martell earns itself powerful buffs when its HP falls below 50%. These include a 55% max HP heal, bringing it back to full HP, a 55% EX gauge restoration skill, a 120% beam damage buff, and a 99% accuracy buff. When fully Transcended, it also gains Absolute Evade for the remainder of the match, which is extremely effective since at that point, only EX Skills, Unavoidable, or Bullseye can kill it. All these buffs can only be activated once, and other than the heal and EX gauge restoration buff, all these remain active for the entire match.

The only downside to the Magna Martell is that it has to get to half HP before it gets to be an extremely effective unit. However, sometimes, it can just die before it even gets to use its buffs when hit by a very powerful attack or EX Skill. It can definitely pose problems against enemies once it has its conditional buffs active, but if not, it's not really a very good unit outside of its debuffing capabilities and EX Skill.

Outside of the skills we've already discussed and its Transcendent Skills, it also has a 200,000 damage cap increase.

Can Tank When Transcended

When Fully Transcended, the Magna Martell becomes an even better-rounded unit. Its Transcendent Skills include a 25% accuracy buff, a 25% damage buff, a 50% EX gauge restoration buff when the battle begins, and the aforementioned Absolute Evade that it benefits from when its HP falls below half of its max. That last skill is extremely powerful, and you can even let it tank when fully Transcended as it becomes impossible to deal with without the right tools at its enemies' disposal.

As usual, Potential Unleashed is important on this unit as it increases the ATK and buff potency tied to its EX Skill, but since it's not extremely reliant on using its EX Skill, you could get away with using this MS at low Potential Levels.

Overall, Magna Martell is an excellent PvE unit, as it becomes extremely hard to deal with once it falls down to 50% HP. It's also a good PvP unit, but its success depends on whether or not it can stay alive for long after its HP falls below 50%.

Celine is by far the best pilot for Magna Martell as she grants a crazy amount of ranged sense, as well as good amounts of accuracy. She grants 152% ranged sense for the entire match, but once Magna Martell's health falls below 50%, she grants 308% more ranged sense, adding up to a total of 460%. As for the accuracy, she grants 10% for the entire match, while granting another 41% once her HP falls below 50%.

With this duo together, Magna Martell becomes even more dangerous once it falls below the HP threshold and shows its true power.
