Mobile Suit Gundam U.C. Engage's Arena and other PvP modes need good mobile suits that not only deal heavy damage but synergize well with other units. Read our tier list of the best mobile suits for PvP so you can form your own team and climb the ranks!
Like in our PvE Tier List, every mobile suit in Mobile Suit Gundam U.C. Engage has a specific role and type, and certain mobile suits are better at their roles than others. In the context of Arena Mode, however, players have to consider whether their mobile suit can be countered by other mobile suits, and which mobile suits are currently "meta."
This is why we ranked the game's UR mobile suits according to how much damage they deal, their stats, and how their skills contribute to their role.
We also took into consideration the effort it would take players to get these units and hit their full potential and transcendence.

![]() |
Best units for their role due to great skills, stats, and EX Skill damage/effect. If you want to excel in Arena, prioritize getting the units in this tier. |
---|---|
![]() |
Great units that are not SS-tier simply because they are outperformed by those units. They are still valuable mobile suits players will want because of their skills and niches. |
![]() |
Above-average mobile suits that can perform their role well though are outperformed by higher tier units. Players don't need to go out of their way to get these units, but they are useful if you happen to get them. |
![]() |
Average units that are either inferior to units in the higher tiers when it comes to performing their role or are too niche to be useful in a majority of situations. Though we recommend replacing these units if you have them, they may still have their uses depending on your own team composition or the enemy's team composition. |
![]() |
Units that give below-average performance in their role. Players should avoid pulling for them, or replace them as soon as possible if they happen to pull them. |
Mobile Suit | Tier Placement Reasoning |
---|---|
![]() | • The Banshee (NT-D) is unlike many other Raid units in that while other Raid units need to rely on Evasion to avoid damage, the Banshee (NT-D) simply shrugs off any damage by healing it with its EX Skill. • Unless the Banshee (NT-D) is ganged up on or affected by many debuffs, it's a hard unit to kill that causes high damage with its Armed Armor EX Skill and HP drain abilities. |
![]() | • One of the most powerful melee fighters in the game, the Kshatriya is not only highly evasive but tanky to boot because of its HP absorption ability. It also stuns the target of its EX Skill for 7 seconds, which is valuable in the Arena as it leaves that particular mobile suit open to attacks from its teammates. • Pairing the Kshatriya with its signature pilot, Marida Cruz, further boosts its Evasion and melee sense, making it a deadlier high evasion attacker. |
Mobile Suit | Tier Placement Reasoning |
---|---|
![]() | • The Sinanju is a high Critical Rate attacker that gets up close to the enemy with the highest HP and cuts through them with its EX Skill, before cutting through the rest with a 50% critical rate boost that lasts for 20 seconds. If transcended, this goes up 50% more, overwhelming the enemy with critical strikes. • Pairing this mobile suit with Full Frontal or another pilot makes the Sinanju a deadlier melee fighter with increased movement speed that allows it to close the distance quickly with enemies. |
![]() | • A reliable MS capable of making the entire enemy team incapable of avoiding attacks from your allies, leading the way to many different EX Skill combos depending on whether or not you have the right units. • For PvP this can be a rather broken skill that potentially leads to powerful foes getting cut down by the Zeta Gundam, or the entire enemy party potentially getting stunned for four seconds by the Hamma-Hamma. |
![]() | • A deadly AoE attacker that boosts the beam damage dealt by its allies, the Nightingale is a top-of-the-line unit that is resistant to critical hits, uses beam funnels to deal damage, and can even heal itself whenever it guards itself against a hit. • The only weakness it has is being a Raid unit without Evasion buffs, it can be defeated rather easily. So it will need tanky units to back it up or protect it from enemy Raid units. |
![]() | • Ple's Qubeley Mk-II may be designed like a typical Generic mobile suit, with its EX Skill capable of making all enemies take 34% more Beam Damage while buffing the beam damage of its allies. But the main way it deals damage is through its Funnels, which also happen to deal Beam damage. • Though it's not a great Raid unit in its own right, it will definitely be great to pair with other heavy-hitters that use Beam weapons. |
![]() | • Though less potent in combat than its NT-D counterpart, the Banshee is still a solid mobile suit capable of restoring its HP both with its EX Skill and whenever it manages to evade an enemy attack. |
![]() | • Just as deadly as the Sinanju, but also makes one enemy take more damage and decreases their Evasion for 10 seconds with the EX Skill. It also has the same Critical Rate buffs as the Sinanju with its EX skill and Transcendent Skill. • However, it has a skill that makes it go after Generic mobile suits first, which may or may not be what you want it to do in battle depending on who you're facing. |
![]() | • Though the Blue Destiny Unit-1 specializes in taking down enemies with the "Newtype Machine" unit category, its EX Skill still deals quite a lot of damage to non-Newtype mobile suits. • When paired with Yuu Kajima, the Blue Destiny becomes a melee powerhouse with higher melee sense, faster EX skill gauge recovery, and higher accuracy. |
![]() | • A glass cannon executioner that seeks out the target with the lowest HP and takes them down with a killer beam rifle. The Gaplant is a great example of what to expect from Raid units (low defense in exchange for high damage and Evasion) and will do well when paired with pilots that increase its evasion and melee damage like Rosamia Badam. • The only drawback aside from its low defense is how much investment it needs to get good buffs like the 30-second Evasion boost and EX damage boost. |
Mobile Suit | Tier Placement Reasoning |
---|---|
![]() | • Don't get us wrong; the Hi-Nu is a great raid unit with an EX skill that deals decent upfront damage and continuous damage afterward. But getting it takes quite a bit of effort (can only be obtained by buying blueprints from the shop) and, in the end, you get a unit that is outperformed by a good number of other mobile suits when it comes to damage. |
![]() | • The Gundam (M0033) is a decent melee fighter capable of inflicting the unavoidable debuff on a single enemy before taking them out with its Beam Saber. If you don't have any other mobile suit that can cast that debuff, this Gundam variant will work in a pinch. • You will need to invest in this unit though if you want to get its evasion boost as well as a stronger version of its Beam Saber, but you may want to save the resources and get other units instead. |
![]() | • Matsunaga's High Mobility Zaku II is a mobile suit that targets enemies with the lowest HP with its EX Skill - which also increases its movement speed. It deals decent damage and can fill the role of an executioner in your team if you don't have one yet. |
![]() | • The Byarlant Custom is a potent anti-Evasion unit that can also boost its own Evasion at the same time. If you don't have units like the GP04, or sniper units, the Byarlant can be your go-to unit for dealing with evasive enemy mobile suits for some time. |
![]() | • Among the most useful of the B-tier units, the Berga-Dalas' EX Skill works similarly to that of Ple's Qubeley Mk-II in that it's mainly a support skill that makes enemies take 34% more beam damage. It also boosts the Beam Damage and Critical Rate of any allies with the "Raid" category and "High Mobility" unit category. |
![]() | • Char's Zaku II is a frontline attacker with one simple use: it stuns enemies for 7 seconds before cutting them down with its Heat Hawk. • It also has an Evasion buff that lasts as long as the unit itself remains undamaged - which could give the Zaku an advantage in the early stages of a battle. |
![]() | • The Engage Zero with Booster is similar to the Gundam (THE ORIGIN) in that its EX Skill inflicts unavoidable on a single target plus deals higher damage. It also has a suite of other buffs such as increased Evasion, higher beam damage, as well as faster movement speed... if you transcend it, that is. |
![]() | • If you need a debuffer, the Gundam Mk-II (Titans) may be the unit you need since its EX Skill not only deals high damage to an enemy but makes them take 50% more Beam Damage for 20 seconds. This makes the Gundam Mk-II (Titans) great to pair with other heavy hitters that use beam weapons. |
![]() | • The Varguil is a specialist MS that deals with Blue-type units, inflicting increased damage versus them and Unavoidable with its EX Skill. Even when it's not facing Blue-type units, its EX Skill can still pack a punch. It eventually develops a skill that restores its EX skill gauge the more it deals damage, allowing the Varguil to spam its EX. |
![]() | • The Varguil (Gundam Head) functions the same way as the Varguil, but with a specialization against Yellow-type units instead. Its EX Skill also stuns Yellow units instead of inflicting Unavoidable on them. • Another difference the Varguil (Gundam Head) has over the Varguil is that its Transcendence Skill gives it a 50% Evasion boost that lasts for the first 30 seconds of the battle. |
Mobile Suit | Tier Placement Reasoning |
---|---|
![]() | • The Kampfer's gimmick is that it deals high damage and continuous damage afterward for 20 seconds, though it does not have any other outstanding features even when transcended - especially Evasion buffs. With low DEF and no evasion, it's a glass cannon that you can do without. |
![]() | • The Narrative Gundam is another Raid unit with a good skillset (heavy-hitting EX Skill plus 20-second buff for all "Red-type" allies) but is hampered by its niche (the "Red-type" requireent for the buff), and lack of any survivability options such as higher Evasion, DEF increases, or healing. |
![]() | • The Engage Gundam Booster is another unit that deals decent damage but is hampered by a niche of only being able to boost the damage dealt by allies with the "Gundam-Type" unit category. |
Mobile Suit | Tier Placement Reasoning |
---|---|
![]() | • Fragile and deals low damage compared to other UR Raid units, with its only saving grace being the additional damage of its EX Skill versus "Gundam-type" units. |
![]() | • Compared to even other Gundam variants, this one has no standout features because even its EX Skill simply deals damage to enemies (and not a whole lot of it either). When transcended, it gets an evasion buff, but it may be more worth it to invest the resources into better Raid units. |
Mobile Suit | Tier Placement Reasoning |
---|---|
![]() | • Though it's a Generic mobile suit, the Zeta Gundam is as heavy-hitting as any Raid-type mobile suit and then some. Not only does its EX Skill ignore an enemy's defense, but it also deals additional damage if that enemy has been hit with the Unavoidable debuff (and that damage ignores enemy DEF as well). • The Zeta is a fierce mobile suit to put up with the likes of the Hyaku Shiki, the Varguils, the Engage Zero with Booster, and the Gundam (M0033). |
![]() | • The Phenex fills a niche where not only does it deal high damage to an enemy, but gives them devastating debuffs as well in the form of taking 60% more Beam and Projectile damage from the Phenex's allies. • When transcended, the Phenex only gets better with added evasion and a specialization versus enemies with the "Psycho-Frame Type" unit category. |
Mobile Suit | Tier Placement Reasoning |
---|---|
![]() | • The Unicorn Gundam (NT-D) is similar to the Banshee (NT-D) in that they're both heavy-hitting melee fighters. But while the Banshee (NT-D) has self-healing properties, the Unicorn Gundam (NT-D) focuses more on damage. • Its EX Skill not only bypasses an enemy's defense, but it also gives the mobile suit a 60% Critical Rate boost for 20 seconds. |
![]() | • The Pale Rider, just like the Blue Destiny, specializes in killing mobile suits with the "Newtype Machine" unit category. But also just like the Blue Destiny, the Pale Rider deals a lot of damage with its EX Skill even if it's not going up against a Newtype Machine. • If it is fighting against a Newtype Machine though, then it'll deal not only increased damage but inflict "Unavoidable" on them for 8 seconds. • The Pale Rider's transcendent skills give it 50% more evasion, higher beam damage and accuracy versus Newtype Machine enemies, and even 4 seconds of Unavoidable for non-Newtype Machine enemies. |
![]() | • The Nu Gundam is a heavy-hitting Generic unit that deals high damage with both its EX Skill and its Fin Funnels. The reason you might put it in for your team, however, is that it heals your entire party for 22% of their max HP. • When transcended, it gets more accuracy and damage for its Fin Funnels, a stackable beam damage buff whenever it damages enemies, as well as a boost to its healing for allies. |
![]() | • Already great ranged attacker that also makes its target take 60% more Beam damage for 20 seconds, the Sazabi also buffs the damage of any "Blue" type mobile suit allies. This is great, especially since one of the best Bombardment and Armored units in the game so far are both Blue (the Gundam GP02A and the S Gundam). |
![]() | • One of the best anti-Evasion unit mobile suits so far, the Gundam GP04 by itself only deals high damage with its EX Skill and gives itself a beam damage boost. But when paired with pilots like Cima Garahau (C0049), the GP04 gets the Accuracy buffs it needs to almost never miss its shots in battle. |
![]() | • The Psycommu System Zaku is one of the game's most devastating debuffers, but needs a lot of investment before getting there. When you make the effort, however, not only will its EX Skill make an enemy take 50% more Beam and Projectile damage, but it also gives them 36% less Accuracy for 20 seconds - effectively making the enemy miss around a third of all their attacks during that period. |
![]() | • The Hamma-Hamma is not only one of the best AoE attackers in the game, but is also the key to many mobile suit combos. • Its EX Skill not only damages all enemies, but also Stuns them if they have the "Unavoidable" debuff, making it perfect to pair with the Hyaku Shiki and other mobile suits that inflict Unavoidable. • If the target has been stunned, the Hamma-Hamma deals additional damage to it too, making it great to pair with stunners like Char's Zaku II and others. |
![]() | • Though the Full Armor Gundam sounds like it should be an Armored mobile suit, it's still a great Generic mobile suit that not only deals heavy damage but also makes its entire team take 30% percent less Beam and Projectile damage for 20 seconds. • When transcended, the Full Armor Unicorn Gundam gets higher Accuracy, Beam Damage, and HP, making it a deadly unit. |
Mobile Suit | Tier Placement Reasoning |
---|---|
![]() | • The Zaku I deals good damage with its EX Skill though its niche is that it has to be paired with other mobile suits with the "Zaku-Type" unit category to take advantage of its full potential. • When transcended, it gets Evasion buffs that make it nearly unhittable as long as it stays at full HP. |
![]() | • The Gundam GP01Fb is a support unit that boosts the Evasion and Movement speed of its allies, making it good to pair with melee-focused teams. Its EX Skill also comes with a healing ability, but it only heals mobile suits with the "Delaz Conflict" unit category. |
![]() | • Deals decent damage and buffs the damage of all "Blue" type allies, making it a great partner to many heavy-hitting Blue type units. |
![]() | • Another support unit like the GP01Fb, but instead of just Evasion, it boosts Accuracy too - though the Evasion buff only applies to any unit with the "High Mobility" unit category. • Transcending the Delta Plus gives its purely support-type EX Skill some attack damage, making the mobile suit a decent offensive unit. |
![]() | • Char's Zaku II (THE ORIGIN) may not have the other version's Stun debuff, but it does decrease an enemy's movement speed by 76% - devastating for melee units that have to get close before dealing damage. • The unit also has the Zaku I (Char)'s up to 75% Evasion buffs that it keeps as long as it remains undamaged. |
![]() | • The Gundam (M0034)'s EX Skill ignores an enemy's Defense, making it one of your early heavy-hitters if you're only using non-limited UR units. It also buffs the damage of all "Green" mobile suit allies - making it great to pair with the likes of the Unicorn Gundam (NT-D), thePale Rider, the Sinanju, and others. |
![]() | • The Victory Gundam deals high damage with its EX Skill to a single enemy unit, but not much else. When transcended, it gets both stackable Beam damage and Evasion buffs, though it's more worth it to put the resources toward transcending other mobile suits instead. |
![]() | • Similar to the Victory Gundam, the Theta Plus deals heavy damage to a single enemy but doesn't have other skills outside of that. However, it does get a buff to its Guard Rate when transcended, making it more resistant to Critical Hits. |
![]() | • Deals decent damage, though its main attraction is the 21% damage buff its EX Skill gives to other "Gundam-type" allies - which could make it a good support unit to bring along if you're fielding nothing but Gundams. |
Mobile Suit | Tier Placement Reasoning |
---|---|
![]() | • Similar to the GP01Fb, the Gundam GP01 deals decent damage and provides support buffs for allies. But it only gives healing to allies with the "Ground" unit categories, making its niche highly limited. |
Mobile Suit | Tier Placement Reasoning |
---|---|
![]() | • Deals comparatively low damage with its EX Skill, with its only redeeming factor being that it can buff the damage of its "Psycho-Frame Type" allies. • Becomes slightly more useful when transcended since it gets higher damage and accuracy, though there are other Yellow-type mobile suits worth transcending more (like the Zeta Gundam). |
Mobile Suit | Tier Placement Reasoning |
---|---|
![]() | • The GP02A may not look like an ideal Armored unit, but it's a devastating AoE attacker that can remove a hefty chunk of HP from its enemies with its Atomic Bazooka EX Skill. In exchange, it won't be able to avoid attacks for 20 seconds, but that's where your other units come in to finish the enemy off • When transcended, the GP02A's EX Skill gets even deadlier with a damage buff and max damage boost. This is on top of 25% more HP and 25% less damage taken from enemy attacks. |
![]() | • One of the tankiest melee fighters in the game, The-O deals great damage to single targets and inflicts "Unavoidable" on them with its EX Skill. But if they already have Unavoidable (most likely from the Hyaku Shiki if you partnered it up with The-O), then it will deal even more damage with its EX Skill. • Transcending it is a must because of the Evasion boosts it gets, along with the ability to heal itself with every successful evasion. |
Mobile Suit | Tier Placement Reasoning |
---|---|
![]() | • One of the best Armored mobile suits in the game because of how good it is at its job: to tank damage with its DEF buffs from both its EX and Transcendent Skills. • Whenever it guards against a hit, it restores a little bit of HP as well, though this probably won't trigger as much as The-O's "heal on every evade" ability. |
Mobile Suit | Tier Placement Reasoning |
---|---|
![]() | • A heavy-hitting Armored unit whose quality as an Armored unit comes in the form of being able to regenerate its HP every time it activates its EX Skill. Other defensive skills include less Projectile Damage taken from enemies, and less Beam Damage taken from enemies (one buff kicks in when the Rick Dom's HP goes below 80% percent, and the second buff kicks in when its HP goes below 50%). |
![]() | •The Zaku III Custom heals itself whenever it activates its EX Skill, just like the Banshee (NT-D), and it deals decent damage too. • You'll need to invest both time and resources into this unit though to get its 25% Accuracy buff, 25% max HP buff, as well as the ability to heal a bit of HP whenever it deals damage. |
![]() | • Though its EX Skill deals low damage, the GM III Powered FA boosts the damage dealt by any allies with the "GM-Type" unit category. This could be great if you don't have any other Armored units but have the Blue Destiny Unit-1 as one of your Raid units. |
Mobile Suit | Tier Placement Reasoning |
---|---|
![]() | • One of the best Bombardment units this game has to offer, the S Gundam deals high damage with its EX Skill and gives itself a Critical Rate boost afterward - making even its basic attacks capable of taking out Raid units. • Transcending it gives the mobile suit more accuracy, and increased Critical ATK, while its other skills raise its beam damage depending on whether it still has 80-100% HP during the battle. |
Mobile Suit | Tier Placement Reasoning |
---|---|
![]() | • A glass cannon that hits hard but needs investment and the support of other units in order to survive. • Transcending this unit increases its Accuracy, Ranged Damage, and Critical Rate, making it even suit its sole purpose better. |
![]() | • Compared to other Bombardment units, Johnny Ridden's Gelgoog Cannon's EX Skill does not deal that much damage. But that damage ignores the enemy's DEF, as well as inflicts Stun (making it good to pair with other mobile suits that can capitalize on that). |
Mobile Suit | Tier Placement Reasoning |
---|---|
![]() | • The G-3 Gundam trades HP for damage, and it can deal quite a lot of it with its EX Skill in exchange for 15% of its HP. You'll need to pair it with a healer to make this somewhat sustainable. • It can deal even more damage while trading just the same amount of HP when you Transcend it, but it only needs to be transcended up until you get this particular part of its Transcendent Skill. |
![]() | • A decent AoE attacker without many other bells and whistles. Since it can be obtained for free, it can be a good alternative to the Hamma-Hamma if one does not have that yet (though it won't have the additional perks such as the Stun debuff and ability to work with other units that deal the "Unavoidable" debuff). |
Mobile Suit | Tier Placement Reasoning |
---|---|
![]() | • Though it's an alright unit, the problem with the Psycho Zaku is that a player cannot get its full potential without banking on getting its allies defeated - which is something no player wants to happen during a battle. • It deals more damage to mobile suits with the "Gundam-type" unit category, but the Psycho Zaku's caveats make it more appealing to just invest resources in higher-tier Bombardment units. |
