Sazabi Analysis

A Less Potent Version Of The Yellow Sazabi

The Purple Sazabi is very similar to the Yellow Sazabi in the sense that they both have bullseye for the first 18 seconds of combat, stacking damage buffs on dealing damage, and a damage cap increase. Sadly, the Purple Sazabi isn't quite as good as its Yellow-type counterpart due to it having inferior weapons and survivability.

Its weapons are inferior to the Yellow Sazabi because Yellow Sazabi's weapons consist of a long-range irradiate weapon, a standard mid-range rifle, and a melee weapon, all of which have at least an S rating for power. Meanwhile, the Purple Sazabi has more of a standard weapon pool of 2 mid-range weapons and a beam saber, and only the beam saber has a good power rating of SSS, while the ranged weapons are rated only C+ and B.

However, the Yellow Sazabi is arguably the most powerful MS in Gundam UC Engage as of this writing, and even the other top MSs pale in comparison to it. Just because the Purple Sazabi is worse than the Yellow Sazabi, it doesn't mean it's a bad unit. Far from it, in fact.

The Purple Sazabi is no slouch when it comes to offense, as it is still is one of the best Purple-type DPS MSs in the game thanks to its numerous damage buffs. It's worth noting that most of this MSs damage comes from the 2nd weapon, which is a melee weapon that requires it to close in on the target first. In cases where it can't use its melee weapon for whatever reason, the mobile suit's damage output will suffer.

Also, the Purple Sazabi does do two things better than its God-tier counterpart. First, it can gain 75% accuracy for 8 seconds after using its EX skill, making it very accurate even when the bullseye status effect expires. Secondly, this MS has very potent stunning capabilities. Each time this Sazabi deals damage, it stuns for 0.42 seconds, and each time it uses its EX skill it stuns for a full 8 seconds, which takes an opponent out of commission for what'll feel like forever.

Speaking of its EX skill, other than stunning, it also deals 603% of its ATK as well as increases the MSs beam damage by 60%. This can be fired off at a decent rate of around every 10 seconds.

Finally, this MS is equipped with 50% evasion for the first 30 seconds of combat when fully Transcended. While this is nice to have, it's not very good at helping it stay alive, especially in PvP where extremely high evasion or absolute evasion is ideal. This is an area where it really gets overshadowed by its yellow counterpart, since the Yellow Sazabi can steal HP from enemies and stay healthy while the Purple Sazabi cannot.

Overall, the Purple Sazabi is like a less potent version of the Yellow Sazabi. It's not bad by any means, and is actually quite a powerful MS. However, players can get a free Zeta Gundam (Hyper Mega Launcher) from the Special UR Selector ticket from the 1st Anniversary Celebration achievement rewards, which is currently also one of the best DPS options among the Purple-types. This limits the Purple Sazabi's value, as you can use that instead as your Purple-type DPS and save your diamonds. On the other hand, if you do decide to pull for it, you get a solid DPS with good utility and subjectively one of the coolest-looking mobile suits in the Universal Century.

Stronger When Transcended

The Purple Sazabi grows a lot stronger when Transcended. At max Transcendence Lv., you get 50% evasion for the first 30 seconds of combat, which is its only defensive skill. You'll also get 36% more beam damage which allows you to start matches at 50% EX gauge, enabling you to get access to both the 8-second stun and the beam damage buff early on in the match. Finally, the 75% accuracy you get after using the EX skill is unlocked at Transcendent Lv. 5, and is useful in those situations when the battle lasts more than 18 seconds and the bullseye status effect has worn off.
