Unlike in PvE, where you can focus on forming mobile suit teams solely based on their damage and toughness alone, you will have to consider more variables in PvP. This includes what kind of team your enemy has, what units you have, and what the current trend is in what units to use in general.
You'll always see what kind of defense team your enemy has set before you fight them in the match, so you'll have the chance to set your team accordingly.
For example, if you see that the enemy team has plenty of key Gundam-Type units, then that means it's a good battle to bring Char's Z'Gok to. Inversely, if there aren't any Gundam-Types, you're probably better off letting the Z'Gok sit this one out. The same could be said for other situational units such as Todesritter and its potent anti-Newtype capabilities.
Most Common Arena Mobile Suits and Counters

While the Auto Deployment feature in the game saves you a little bit of time, it's always better to manually set the formation yourself so you can strategically position your units in advantageous spots.
Capitalizing on counters and type advantages will make a night and day difference and will win you more battles than you would've if you just set your auto-deployment setting to On. Great positioning is often the reason behind players being able to beat an enemy team with over a million CP more than their team.

If your rank is A1 or below, you can choose between three opponents to fight. In the Arena home screen, you'll see the listed opponents' team, rank, and total CP. The top-most option will always be a Rank Change Battles, which as the name suggests, will be counted towards your Rank Up progress. Even if you think you're going to lose, always opt for the Rank Change Battle.
While going with the weaker option improves your chances of winning, Rank Change Battles always grant the most amount of Arena Pts. once you get past the lowest rank, and the gap between the Rank Change Battles and the other options grows as you rank up. Losing a Rank Change Battle often grants more points than winning the battle on the 2nd or 3rd option. In this case, a loss will be more beneficial than a guaranteed win, as your Arena ranking is dependent on how many points you've earned throughout the season.

Setting Defense teams can be hard because enemies will inevitably set up good counters versus them. The rule of thumb is to place mobile suits with longevity in mind, but you'll also need to have powerful DPS units to terrorize the enemy team. A good way to go about it is to have one or two powerful DPS threats along with a tank, and then just fill up the rest of the roster with other meta mobile suits.
The best mobile suit for Arena is the Gyan, not because of its damage, but because it forces the enemy team to attack the Gyan's allied Armored units first. This skill keeps the Gyan's key units protected, as the opponents will be too preoccupied with attacking the Armored units. Taunt tanks such as the F91 (Full Power), Messer, and Rick Dom (Thunderbolt), on the other hand, draw aggro towards themselves but perform a similar role to the Gyan in the sense that all these units aim to keep the carries protected.
Not everyone has a Gyan or these Taunt tanks, so the next best thing is to place an Armored or other unit with tanking capabilities with the same color/type as your strongest carry. If you place your carry behind this unit, flanking opponents with type advantages over your carry will attack your tank instead of your carry.
Whether you have a Gyan team comp or you're going with the alternative strategy above, the goal is the same. Get your team to withstand the opposing team long enough for your carry/carries to do their thing and win you the battle.
Best Mobile Suit Tier List (PvP)

Usually, when you're starting out in the Arena, enemies have at least around 1,000,000 CP, so if your own CP isn't there yet, then grind for materials to level up your mobile suits, upgrade them in different ways, and even get a couple of good Modules with sub-skills relevant to your key units.
Aim to have at least a million CP before trying the Arena out, and be prepared to face off against many strong players as there are players whose teams have fallen off the rankings over time but can still give quite a challenge to newcomers.

A majority of today's best Arena teams are held together by units with powerful AOE EX skills that can instantly destroy their opponents. To counter this, a lot of the top players in the world have been using double HP modules on all the units they use for PvP, not just the tanks. These modules will help your units survive the barrage of EX skills the opponent prepared for them.
However, it's not as simple as that, since modules have substats called Special Abilities that boost other things like damage and evasion. You'll want to attach HP modules with these sub-stats that are relevant to whatever your unit needs.
For example, if you use the S Gundam for Arena, you'll want to put double HP modules with sub-stats like bonus damage, bonus beam damage, or enhanced critical strikes. You wouldn't want to put in HP modules with substats in resistances or projectile damage since the S Gundam doesn't need those.
Another thing to consider is "Raid Modules", which as its name suggests, are special modules you can earn from Raid Battle events and are extremely potent on the right units.

When you reach Rank S in the Arena, you will no longer have the ability to choose who you will fight, and you will be matched with other powerful opponents. Not that it matters much, because you'll always be picking the Rank Change Battle anyway. Be ready to adapt your team to what your opponent has set for their defensive team.
Remember that if you lose, you will still get Arena Points that still go toward your rank by the end of the season so don't be too afraid to fight and lose a battle even if you know you won't win.

Consistency is the key to climbing the Arena ladder simply because of how the Arena rankings work. Again, your rank is determined by how many points you've accumulated throughout the season. That said, a player with a 20% win rate but completed all 6 matches daily for the entire week will rank higher than a player with a 100% win rate, but only played 2 days.
Do not be afraid to lose in Arena. Be afraid of missing days as that'll greatly affect your Arena ranking.

Arena is a seasonal endgame content for Gundam U.C. Engage and is its primary Player vs Player (PvP) mode. It involves pitting your best squad of mobile suits against enemy players' defense lineups.
The arena has two divisions. One is Standard, which is, as its name suggests, the regular league that most players will find themselves in. Elite, on the other hand, is the premier PvP battlefield for the top UCE players in the world. Here, only those that have found success in the last season will be allowed to enter. Come the end of the season, the top 300 players of Standard will be eligible to play in Elite Arena, while those outside of the top 300 rankings of Elite will be relegated back to Standard.

Arena can be accessed from the Quests panel at the Home screen. It is unlocked at Player Rank 40, which can be accessed on the same day you create an account, if you rank up the optimal way. However, because mobile suits and pilots' levels are dependent on player rank, and the maximum level is reached far beyond level 100, Arena can be considered its own ecosystem where level 40 is its own " early game."
How To Rank Up and Unlock All Content Quickly

Unlike the main quest, the conditions for victory in Arena are much simpler: you just have to defeat your enemy's team, no matter the cost. Hence, it has its own meta where mobile suits and pilots that are otherwise questionable to use in the main quest can be viable, or even downright desirable to use.
Another notable difference that makes Arena distinct from other modes is that players can set any kind of team as their Defensive or Offensive lineup. Unlike the vast majority of PvE content where enemies often share a single Type, Arena lineups are often diverse in both Types, Categories, and Unit Categories. This will force participants to adjust their teams to deal with the ever-changing lineups they face, as well as create a defensive lineup that can resist attacks from as many kinds of teams as they can plan for.
Each Arena Season lasts for a week, and rewards are distributed depending on your rank. The rotation also sometimes changes the type of map fights will take place in, so your lineup consideration must involve the changing terrain. Do note, however, that Arena battles tend to be in Space a lot more than any other map type.
It's recommended to push as far as you can every day. This is because the game only provides you with six chances to fight daily, and you can't spend currency to purchase chances.
