Blue Destiny Unit-1 Analysis

Designated Newtype Killer

The Blue Destiny Unit-1 (BD-1) has one job and one job only: to kill Newtype Machines. Its EX Skill deals deals 502% of its ATK to one target, but if that target falls under the "Newtype Machine" unit category, it deals an additional 1004% of its ATK as damage. That said, this EX skill is something that would give Newtype Machines trouble. This EX skill also increases the BD-1's accuracy and beam damage by 36% and 50% respectively, both for 20 seconds. This potentially huge burst of damage can be fired off early into the match when fully Transcended as it enjoys a 50% EX gauge restoration buff granted right when battle begins.

Its Newtype countering abilities don't stop there, as it grants target focus to mobile suits that fall under this category, prioritizing them over any other unit, even if they're behind supposedly protected Armored units. Proximity damage against Newtypes is improved by 99%, and accuracy against Newtype targets is increased by 25%.

As for its other skills, it benefits from 50% evasion for the first 30 seconds of combat, another 50% evasion for 10 seconds after using its EX skill, and a 36% beam damage buff, both of which are Transcendent Skills. It benefits from a 200000 damage cap increase, allowing it to deal absurdly high amounts of damage, particularly to Newtype Machines. Each time an enemy is defeated, it increases its EX gauge recovery by 24%, while also debuffing its own DEF by 20% for each fallen enemy. It's also worth mentioning that the BD-1 has 2 good melee weapons instead of just 1, which is surprisingly not so common among Raid units. This makes the BD-1 a capable melee fighter, especially against Newtype Machines.

The BD-1 is extremely good at its job, which is to take out Newtype Machines like The-O, the Zeong, and the Zeta Gundam. Against non-Newtypes, however, it's pretty lackluster. A situational unit whose value is unmatched in ideal scenarios, though it lacks versatility.

Investments Make It Better At What It Does

Getting multiple copies of this unit and Unlocking its potential should make this MS much better, as this directly influences the damage and buffs from its EX skill. Transcendence is also very important, especially because of that EX gauge restoration buff that we discussed, and because it's capable of reaching 100% evasion when fully Transcended, making it very hard to take down without the right units.

Yuu Kajima gives the Blue Destiny Unit-1 a huge amount of melee sense buffs which amount to a maximum of 380%, a ridiculous amount that'll make a huge difference for its proximity damage. However, 190% of that is a stacking buff worth 38% per stack that is earned for each fallen enemy, meaning that 190% is only accessible in the very late game when 5 enemies have already fallen and the BD-1 is still alive.

Yuu also grants up to 25% more accuracy, and more importantly, 18% faster EX gauge recovery - which allows the Blue Destiny to use its anti-Newtype EX skill quicker and more often.
