Alex Analysis

Ranged Single-Target Assault Debuffer

The Alex is a Green Generic mobile suit that's best used as a ranged debuffer. Though its EX Skill deals 578% ATK damage with no frills, it makes its target take 50% more Projectile and Beam damage from allies for 20 seconds. You can pair this with other debuffers who do the same thing to make their targets take more damage from your team's heavy hitters.

It also has a decent EX Skill Gauge charge time, with both its first and third weapons making six hits. Afterward, it only has to fire its first weapon again to use its EX skill - all in all, a process that takes less than 20 seconds.

Vulnerable to Melee Attackers

The Alex won't survive PvP battles where the enemy has a Zeta or similar (unless you've also got MSes that can keep up with it). Its also rather weak in melee combat, with only a beam saber that hits once being its main melee weapon.

Get One Copy if You Need a Debuffer

If you don't have a debuffer on your team yet, a single copy of the Alex would be a decent addition, as long as you properly Enhance and Alter it.

Transcending the mobile suit, however, is only recommended if you need a ranged attacker with more damage and don't have the Gundam GP04 or something similar. Otherwise, you are better off using your Haro Coins to transcend another unit. Just make sure that you also have the Alex's canon pilot, Christina Mackenzie, to make up for the lost potential damage buffs with her own buffs.

Christina Mackenzie is a good pilot for the Alex specifically because of the 18% EX Skill Gauge recovery buff she gives to the unit. She also has a smattering of ranged sense buffs, including one that can stack up to 10 times whenever she deals damage. She also has a 20% accuracy buff, though this only lasts for the first 30 seconds of battle.
