Jona Basta Review

Jona Basta, like all the other signature pilots for Support mobile suits, will always be useful as a substitute pilot for other Support mobile suits thanks to the 18% EX gauge recovery buff that he grants. Another great buff he grants is a 13% EX damage resistance buff granted to Protagonist Units, which will come in extremely handy in keeping them alive in PvP.

Another interesting buff is his other 18% EX gauge recovery buff that he grants to Phoenix Hunt units. That alone makes him situationally better than the other version of Jona Basta for the Phenex, given that the Phenex is a PvE cornerstone unit for PvE stages against a single enemy unit. This buff is huge since the Phenex relies on using its EX skill to debuff an enemy and make them more susceptible to beam and projectile damage.

He also grants a stacking 12% ranged sense buff on dealing damage to EFF-Affiliated units. However, Support units don't really do too much damage so that's not very important.

Lastly, Jona grants a 17% accuracy buff to Yellow-type mobile suits.

Overall, Jona Basta is an excellent pilot for all Support category units, as well as the Phenex, for the reasons we've discussed above. He's also a must-have pilot for his signature MS, but we'll talk more about that below.

Jona provides the Narrative Gundam B-Packs with maximum EX skill buff uptime thanks to the 36% EX gauge recovery he grants, which is twice the amount you get from other Support pilots. He also grants it 13% EX damage resistance to help it stay alive in battle longer, as well as ranged sense and accuracy buffs for a decent boost in combat power.
