Victory 2 Assault Gundam Analysis

Perfect Guard All-Arounder

The Victory 2 Assault Gundam, commonly referred to as V2A, is an extremely well-rounded mobile suit. It is the first mobile suit with access to the Perfect Guard status, which reduces all instances of damage that it takes to 1 point of damage while the status is active.

The V2A's EX skill deals 693% ATK to a single enemy unit, buffs its own damage by 60%, grants a team-wide 30% EX damage resistance buff, and heals the lowest HP ally for 54%. Its Skill 1 also grants 12 seconds of Perfect Guard each time it uses its EX skill. All these EX skill effects are extremely useful.

The EX skill damage and the damage buffs are rather self-explanatory, but the 30% EX damage resistance buff to all allies is very nice to have in the PvP meta at the time of writing considering how almost everybody in Elite Arena has a Zeong. The 54% max HP heal to the lowest HP ally should also be very useful both in PvE and in PvP. When fully Transcended, this mobile suit can use its EX skill often and very early in the match thanks to an 80% EX gauge restoration buff when battle begins, and a 24% EX gauge restoration buff each time an ally falls in battle.

The Perfect Guard status that it gets from its Skill1 when using its EX skill is extremely powerful because, at the time of writing, there's no way to bypass Perfect Guard. In the 12 seconds it is active, it becomes a borderline invincible machine that's only damaged by EX skills. It'll become harder to kill than even the Awakened Magna Martell since there are ways to counter Absolute Evade, but none just yet for Perfect Guard.

Ramping Beam Damage and Evasion

The V2A's Skill 2 gives it a 200,000 damage cap increase and a 24% EX gauge restoration skill for each time an ally falls in combat as we mentioned earlier. It also grants a ramping 13% beam damage and 10% evasion every 5 seconds for 1 minute. These skills max out at 65% beam damage and 50% evasion respectively, which peak at the first 25 seconds and onward.

Its Transcendent Skills are also very good. When fully Transcended, it gets 25% more accuracy, 36% more beam damage, 70% Third Weapon beam damage, and an additional 200,000 damage cap increase for its Third Weapon. This is of course on top of the 80% EX gauge restoration skill that we've already discussed.

Potential Unleashed is important on the V2A, but it can still perform quite well even without it. It may not deal as much damage, heal as much, or buff as well as a max Potential Lv. version would, but it still would be very hard to deal with considering that its Perfect Guard duration will always be at 12 seconds regardless of Potential Unleashed. Still, having more copies is always more beneficial.

Excellent Unit At The Time Of Writing

Based on everything we've discussed, the V2A is a very good mobile suit to have both for PvE and PvP given its respectable offense, top-notch defense, and powerful utility. It's definitely a mobile suit worth adding to your roster. However, do take note that more powerful and impactful mobile suits may be released very soon, and it may or may not be more beneficial to spend your saved-up diamonds on those instead.

Another thing to take note of is that the heal it grants with its EX skill might be a lot more valuable later on once we get more powerful tanks that could withstand much more than the tanks we currently have at the time of writing. The V2A may help them last even longer down the line.

The V2A's weakness is that it only has 25% accuracy from its Transcendent Skills, which makes it not that good against evasive targets. This can be remedied by having its signature pilot, Uso Ewin, on board.

Uso Ewin grants his signature MS up to 392% beam damage, a ramping 12% accuracy buff every 5 seconds for 1 minute (max 60% at 25 seconds), and a stacking 8% reaction buff on taking damage that maxes out at 40%. On top of greatly increasing its damage output, Uso also makes it a lot more accurate, which is one of the weaknesses this mobile suit has. Together, the duo boasts a maximum of 85% accuracy from 25 seconds after the battle starts all the way until the first minute of combat.
