Rerolling for the best starter mobile suits in Gundam UC Engage can help you start strong in your new playthrough. Read on to see our reroll tier list, tier list placement explanations, and the best starter Gundams and other mobile suits players should get.
List of Contents

Early on in your playthrough of Mobile Suit Gundam U.C. Engage, you will have to go through the Main Quest
However, later on, you'll want to be doing other things too, like participating in Cooperative Battles, Events
You won't always get to pull for the mobile suits you want, even if you spend many Diamonds, so it's also ideal to have some powerhouse units that are strong across all game modes right when you start the game.
This is why we ranked the mobile suits on this list based on their ability to tackle both the game's Main Quest as well as mid- to late-game content.
All of the units in this tier list are UR-rarity units that new players can get from the 72 Hour Limit MS Unit Assembly Banner.
Pilots do not have their own Reroll Tier List because it is recommended that you start pulling for the signature pilots after getting the mobile suits. Most pilots released since late 2024 require their signature pilot to perform optimally, so prioritize getting them once you have the mobile suits you want.

This mobile suit is excellent across all game modes and is considered one of the most powerful and impactful units in the game. Pulling for these units should be the top priority over everybody else. |

A level below the SS-tier units, but they are still outstanding mobile suits. This unit also boasts reliability across all game modes, or may struggle in some but are top-tier in others. While undoubtedly some of the top units in the game, these do not warrant a must-pull like the ones in SS-tier, though they will play a central role in your team as supporting cast members or a key DPS unit. |

Great across all game modes or situationally, but is probably around the third or fourth best unit in their class. Will be effective in most or ideal in-game situations, though they may not be the absolute best at what they do. These may also be top-tier picks that require additional pieces around them, but are just good on their own. Excellent complementary pieces, but they shouldn't be specifically targeted in rerolls, unless they are also rolling for the additional pieces they need. |

Units here might be picks that thrive in specific scenarios, but lack the flexibility to be great across all game modes. These may also be units that are potentially very good, but require additional copies to perform well, which you probably won't have, given that rerollers are only starting out. They still might be good roll rewards, but should also not be targeted specifically. |

While these units may be powerful, they are also outclassed by the game's top-tier units, so you're probably going to replace them eventually as well, once you get the SS-tier units. |

| Mobile Suit | Tier Placement Reasoning |
|---|---|
[M0381] The-O | • The-O (Purple), commonly referred to as Purple-O, is the best mobile suit in the game at the time of writing. It boasts a high guard rate paired with Perfect Guard, heals on guarding, and deals huge AoE damage with its spammable EX and Lethal EX skills. Its incredible defense, paired with its strong offense, makes it a force to be reckoned with for both PvE and PvP. • The-O is the best starter unit by far, and not rerolling for The-O puts you at a significant disadvantage given how strong it is. Pull for it at all costs. |
| Mobile Suit | Tier Placement Reasoning |
|---|---|
[M0317] Gyan | • The Gyan excels in both PvE and PvP by forcing enemies to target Armored units for the first 15 seconds of combat, protecting key DPS units, and allowing them to dominate the battlefield. • Using this alongside the Purple-O should get you plenty of wins despite just starting out, since The-O will be able to heal and spam its EX skill at a much faster rate. |
[M0296] Magna Martell (Awaken) | • The Awakened Magna Martell is an extremely well-rounded unit in the sense that it can fulfill multiple roles all at the same time. It's a fine DPS unit, a great dodge tank with permanent Absolute Evade when its HP falls below 50%, and the game's best debuffer, being better than the likes of the Phenex, Alex, and Cima's Gelgoog Marine. If you're a new player, it'll definitely be one of the best targets to roll for, given its flexibility. |
[M0358] Geymalk | • The Geymalk is a mobile suit that increases its damage with each use of its EX. After a few stacks of its damage buff from its EX skill, it is able to consistently reach its damage cap. It is one of the very best DPS units in the game for PvE, since all you need to do is buy it some time to scale. |
[M0386] Gundam F91 (Full Power) | • The F91 is an extremely useful tank in the sense that it benefits from a permanent Absolute Evade buff, taunts all enemies for the first 8 seconds of combat, and deals good amounts of damage. It also has high evasion and 99% EX damage resistance, which means that the only way to beat it is by reducing that EX damage resistance and hitting it with powerful EX skills, or by using Unavoidable or Bullseye+high accuracy. It can survive for as long as the match goes on when the team you're facing has none of these tools to beat it. |
| Mobile Suit | Tier Placement Reasoning |
|---|---|
[M0397] Methuss | • The Methuss heals all allies with its EX skill, grants the Regeneration status to all allies, which restores health every 6 seconds, and grants beam and projectile damage resistance buffs too for as long as it stays alive. • Blue-type units get even bigger heals and resistances, and can be resurrected by the Methuss should they fall in battle. • When pulled alongside the Quin Mantha, both units become SS-tier picks. |
[M0325] Quin Mantha | • A powerful bruiser with a massive HP pool and good resistances. Its constant access to the Assault state can be instrumental in taking out Guard/Perfect Guard-oriented units like the The-O (Purple). • What holds it back is how it needs the Methuss to showcase its true strength. The Methuss will be able to constantly heal itself and resurrect itself should it fall in battle. • When pulled alongside the Methuss, both units become SS-tier picks. |
| Mobile Suit | Tier Placement Reasoning |
|---|---|
[M0166] Phenex (NT Version) | • The Phenex is a great debuffer for Cooperative Battles and other PvE content against a single enemy unit. This is because of its EX skill that makes a single enemy unit take 60% more beam and projectile damage from both the Phenex and its allies. • The Phenex pales in comparison to the Awakened Magna Martell as a debuffer, hence the low placement. The only time it is better is if the enemy unit you want to debuff is a Psycho-Frame Type MS, as these take 26% more damage from all sources. • Another thing that hurts the Phenex's value is how it needs Potential Unleashed to be effective, whereas the Magna Martell (Awakened) does not. |
[M0382] Zeta Gundam | • The Waverider Zeta, much like its other variants, is an EX spamming unit. On its third EX skill, it uses its Lethal EX instead, which deals a whopping 2079% ATK, inflicts the Unguardable and Unavoidable statuses on the target for 8 seconds, and increases the damage it inflicts by 39%. Outside of those, it benefits from a damage cap increase, EX damage buffs, EX gauge recovery buffs, accuracy, evasion, and, of course, beam damage. • Because it is extremely reliant on its EX skill, its performance is highly dependent on its Potential Lv. being high. Since you're just starting out, you probably won't pull enough copies to make this MS strong. |
| Mobile Suit | Tier Placement Reasoning |
|---|---|
[M0108] Full Armor Unicorn Gundam (NT-D) | • The FAUC (NT-D) is similar to Zeong in the sense that they both deal big AoE damage with their EX skills while also having high hit-count weapons with good damage buffs. • It is also quite tanky thanks to a buff that makes it take 99% less damage, but that buff is removed when facing off with Blue-type units. • Its biggest drawback is how it inflicts a -200% crit rate debuff on itself, preventing it from benefiting from critical hits. Although useful thanks to its decent damage and strong defense, the FAUC (NT-D) cannot really compete with the best of the best DPS units. |
