First Free Mobile Suit

The original and iconic Gundam is a Blue-type Raid unit that players earn for free at the maximum Potential Level. Like plenty of starter characters in most games, this unit sadly isn't very good.

Its EX skill is a single-target ability that deals 597% ATK damage. It takes a pretty long time to activate, as it does not have any EX gauge recovery or restoration buffs.

Its Skill 1 grants 16% beam damage for only the first 30 seconds of combat, while its Skill 2 grants 18% more beam damage for 10 seconds with each evasion (max 90%). While its Skill 2 can potentially grant a sizeable beam damage buff, its only evasion skill is locked behind Transcendent Lv. 5, and that's only valued at a measly 14%. That said, don't expect this mobile suit to dish out big damage, nor should you expect it to last long once focused on.

Not Worth Transcending

Transcending this mobile suit once grants it its Third Weapon, which is a decent beam saber. One thing the Gundam has going for it is how it is one of the few Raid units with 2 melee weapons instead of just one. Fully Transcending this mobile suit grants it 70% more beam damage with its Third Weapon, while granting it 14% more evasion as well.

Unfortunately, it really isn't wise to Transcend this mobile suit. It lacks the damage, defense, and supportive capabilities to be a good unit. It's only really good very early on in the game since its EX skill and Potential level will already be at Lv. 5, being capable of dishing out that full 597% ATK multiplier EX skill very early on in the game.

Look to supplement the Gundam with pilots that grant it evasion to allow it to survive longer and benefit from its Skill 2. Melee sense is also really good on this unit as its good weapons are both beam sabers.
