The Storm the Castle mission tasks you with collecting Strauss's Research in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 (MW3) Zombies. Learn how to collect Strauss's research, what to do if Strauss's research doesn't show up, and for a full Storm the Castle walkthrough.

Strauss's Research only drops once you complete all of its mission objectives and killing arlord Legacy. Strauss's Research will drop directly from Warlord Legacy after killing him. You should be able to see it quickly as it will have an icon marking it.
The bug that prevented Strauss's Research from dropping is fixed as of December 8, 2023. You or your party members are now guaranteed to get the drop after activating the mission and finishing all its objectives..
The November 21 patch of Modern Warfare 3 confirms that the Warlord kill credit is now shared by the squad. This means that, as long as someone in your squad has the Storm the Castle mission active, Strauss's Research will drop regardless of the squad member that kills the Warlord.

| 1 |  For Storm the Castle, you'll be taking on the Dokkaebi Fortress. It's best to be equipped with 3-Plate Armor Vests and Healing Aura since you'll primarily be against Soldiers, Bomb Drones, and Sentry Guns. | 2 | The first task of Storm the Castle is to clear a Merc Camp. Look for the Encampent map icon immediately upon deploying to Urzisktan and clear it. Make sure to loot the camp's caches too, because you might find a Stronghold Keycard and at least a 2-Plate Armor Vest there. ▶︎ All Mercenary Camp Locations |
| 3 |  After clearing the camp, you'll have to clear a Mercenary Stronghold next. These are also marked on the map. You'll need a Stronghold Keycard to enter them though. If you didn't find one at the Merc Camp, you can buy a keycard from any Buy Station. You might also get a Dokkaebi Fortress Keycard this way, which you will need to open up the fortress later on. | 4 |  After clearing the Stronghold, the final main objective is to defeat a Warlord. The Warlord can be found in the Dokkaebi Fortress, which is located at the top of the skyscraper in Zaravan City in cell D8 in Urzikstan. | 5 |  Inside the Dokkaebi Fortress, the Warlord is at the end part of the skyscraper. Follow the path to that area (it should be linear) until you meet Warlord Dokkaebi. She will not fight you at the first two encounters and will only relocate using her drone. ▶︎ How to Beat Warlords |
| 6 |  Make sure to eliminate all enemies you encounter as you try to find Dokkaebi. They are all capable of killing you even if wearing a 3-Plate Armor Vest. |
| 7 |  After defeating the Warlord, it should drop Strauss's Research as well as a Reward Rift with the Mediator Blueprint. |
