You must first complete one of the three Rituals from the main quest easter egg. A Ritual is complete once you defeat the Portal boss and obtain the Ritual Item. Upon your first completed ritual, Richtofen will speak to you, signaling that you can begin the next steps.
Shattered Veil Easter Egg Walkthrough
Head to the Nursery on the west side of the mansion and shoot the pile of clothes under the small bed. The clothes will disappear, and purple smoke will rise above the bed before drifting away.
Next, go to the East Balcony and shoot the book on the green chair.
A Purple Cloud will rise, surrounding itself with floating objects you must destroy. Once they're gone, the book at the center will become vulnerable for you to shoot.
Repeat this process until the cloud dissipates, leaving behind a faint wisp of purple smoke that fades away.
Note: An upgraded ASG-89 is the most efficient weapon at destroying the cloud for its fast rate of fire and pellet spread.
Shoot the out-of-bounds orb at the Garden Pond (spawn area) and repeat the process of destroying the cloud by shooting the floating objects before shooting the center.
This time, both the surrounding objects and the central target have more health than before, so ensure your main weapon is at least Pack-a-Punched once, upgraded, and fully stocked with ammo.
Shoot the book in the Grand Foyer to destroy the final Purple Cloud. This is the hardest one to destroy due to its high HP. To maximize your chances, ensure both your weapons have max ammo and are Pack-a-Punched and upgraded at least once.
The step is only complete if the Purple Wisp of smoke sinks through the floor. If the cloud simply vanishes without the wisp descending, the step has failed. You can retry in the next round by shooting the same book in the Grand Foyer.
Head down to the bottom of the Elevator Shaft in the Mainframe Chamber and destroy the Purple Smoke rotating around the bottom. Once hit, the Wunderwaffe DG-2 will drop right in front of you.
The Wunderwaffe DG-2 is a powerful crowd-control weapon that stuns zombies in place while dealing slight damage. By shooting a zombie near a horde, the electric stun will chain to the others and you can immobilize a whole swam of zombies at once.
This makes it especially useful during the Z-Rex boss fight, as it keeps zombies stunned, allowing you to focus on the Z-Rex without getting overwhelmed.
