To unlock Ebon Memories: The Soul Seeker, you need to complete the main mission The False Warriors. You will be able to access the side mission in the map screen and mission menu after completing the main mission.
The Suffering of Fools Walkthrough and Rewards

| 1 |  ・Defeat the Dragon Zombie This side mission will have you face 3 different boss battles. The first one is against the Dragon Zombie. Defeat it to proceed to the next boss. |
| 2 |  ・Defeat the Cray Claw The next boss is the Cray Claw. Defeat it to continue the side mission. |
| 3 |  ・Defeat the Iron Giant The final boss is the Iron Giant. You will complete the side mission after defeating it. |
This side mission has 3 boss battles with no Cubes to rest in-between. This is why taking a slower approach and conserving your MP and Potions is important to win each fight.
Using your Soul Shield to restore MP also gives you enough to use for abilities and spells, which allows you to deal more damage and keep your enemies at bay. You can also use Jobs like the Liberator have HP restoration abilities like Mighty Guard to keep you healthy in the middle of the fight.
