Best Job Combos

Dark Knight and Berserker

Job Guides
Dark KnightDark Knight BerserkerBerserker

In the mid-game, Dark Knight doesn't seem great, but shines in the endgame when you have access to higher Affinity gear. At 400% Affinity, Dark Knight gets the bonus effect of having all near death abilities active at all times. On top of that if you have leveled Dark Knight up to 99, you can choose to spend Master Points to gain 10% more damage dealt near death and -19% damage taken when near death. In total, Dark Knight can do +48.4% Damage for free at any HP value. This is all before using Soul Eater which adds another +25% damage.

Berserker at 250% has the Affinity Bonus of having Shell and Protect active when near death, and if you also have Dark Knight at 400% Affinity, this effect is also active at all times. This combo not only offers high damage, but also high survivability, especially if you use the Command Ability Blood Weapon to cancel out Soul Eater's HP drain.

Breaker and Cyclic Warrior

Job Guides
BreakerBreaker Cyclic WarriorCyclic Warrior

Cyclic Warrior gets two Job Affinity Bonuses at 50% and 120% Affinity that increase damage dealt from abilities to the enemy's max break gauge by 13.5% and 22.5%, respectively. Pair this with the Breaker's Zantetsuken ability to not only maximize break damage, but to also debuff the enemy's defense at the same time.

Additionally, Breaker at 120% Affinity has two Affinity Bonuses that boost MP recovery. At 50% Affinity, Soul Burst Bonus I raises successful Soul Bursts MP recovery by 10.8% and at 120% Affinity, Soul Burst Bonus II raises Soul Burst MP recovery by 18%. This will help you keep MP topped off while you break enemies with abilities.

At 400% Affinity in Cyclic Warrior, Soul Bursting while Light Bringer is active will extend Light Bringer's duration. Paired with Breaker's 400% Affinity bonus of increasing Soul Burst damage upon chaining Soul Bursts, this Job combo can tear through mobs and bosses break gauges.

Sage and Void Knight

If you're looking for the best MP recovery, pairing Sage and Void Knight will help keep your MP full so that you can regularly cast magic and abilities. Void Knight has access to Combo Ability Effects that restore MP based off of damage dealt from abilities of a certain Combo Ability Slot.

At 250% Affinity in Void Knight, all MP recovery effects will be boosted. Considering the Sage's Affinity Bonuses of Soul Shield Bonus I and II at 50% and 120% increase MP recovery from a successful soul shield by 20.3% and 33.8%, respectively, you will have plenty of MP to spare.

Ninja and Tyrant

Job Guides
NinjaNinja TyrantTyrant

At 50% and 120% Affinity, Ninja receives Job Affinity Bonuses that boost the MP recovery of normal attacks when the enemy is afflicted with a status ailment (10.1% and 16.9%, respectively). At 50% and 120% in the Tyrant Job, you will get bonuses that increase the build up of status ailments by 13.5% and 22.5%. This is excellent for MP recovery, and will allow you to stay aggressive.

The best aspect of this Job combination though, is that at 400% Affinity in Tyrant, all attacks against enemies inflicted with Status Ailments become critical hits, and with 250% in Ninja, all critical hits reduce the enemy's max break gauge. As long as you keep your targets inflicted with status ailments, your MP recovery and break damage will skyrocket.
