Spearman Build

Spearman Build.gif
The Warrior Job has a wide array of weapons that it can make use of, essentially serving as a bridging platform between basic Jobs and expert ones.

For this build, the Lance is the primary weapons of choice, primarily due to the fact that the Warrior Job has direct ability boosts for the weapon, and because of its near unmatched range in terms of melee weapons.

Command Ability Setup

Best Commands
Mighty StrikesMighty Strikes ZanshinZanshin SwaybackSwayback
  • Mighty Strikes: Boosts own attack type temporarily. This ability then lets the player pierce enemy resistances more easily, leading to either more damage dealt or bigger critical hits.
  • Zanshin: Unlocked in the Samurai Job Tree, this ability reduces the amount of MP it takes to use combo abilities.
  • Swayback: Unlocked in the Lancer Job Tree, this ability allows players to make emergency evasive maneuvers when against enemies that have stun-locked them. It forced Jack to jump back while also refilling his break gauge.

Passive and Effect Priorities

Best Passives and Effects
Mystic SpearMystic Spear Deflecting SpearDeflecting Spear HP +86HP +86
  • Mystic Spear: Enhances abilities set to the Rear Attack Link (Wild Thrust in this case). Attacks making use of the Link will refill the break gauge based on the amount of physical damage the attack causes.
  • Deflecting Spear: Enhances abilities set to Second Link (Ascension in this case). Decreases damage taken from enemies while the ability is active/in progress.
  • HP +86: Increases the maximum HP of the player by 86 points – generally useful when trying to get a matching HP bar with enemies that generally have high health pools. More health for the player means being able to stay in combat for far longer without having to take a break to replenish HP.

Recommended Equipment Effects

Equipment Effects
Pierce Damage Dealt ( + )
HP Recovery Amount ( + )
Agility ( + )

The basic fundamentals of this build relies heavily on what players can gleam from the Lancer Job. Normal attacks will generally feel sluggish, but almost always result in decent returns for every successful hit against enemies.

Take advantage of this by increasing the amount of Pierce Damage that you can deal against enemies, all while making sure that if you are hit, you can recover your HP with either the War Cry ability or through Normal Attacks with Equipment Effects.

Samurai-HP Build

Samurai-HP.gif

The last great build for this Job is structured around the same concepts of the MP Recovery build for the Samurai Job. While elements of that build is brought into this one, this build will only be able to recover MP at a moderate rate, as HP recovery is still central to all builds that the Warrior Job can produce.

Guardian KatanaGuardian Katana Mystic BladeMystic Blade Damage Dealt at Max HP +3.4%Damage Dealt at Max HP +3.4%
  • Guardian Katana: Enhances abilities set to the second Link (Tsukikage in this instance). Decreases damage taken while the ability is in progress.
  • Mystic Blade: Enhances abilities set to the Forward Attack Link (Garo in this instance). Refills the break gauge based on the amount of physical damage you can deal against enemies with the ability.
  • Damage Dealt at Max HP +3.4%: Increases the amount of damage you can deal against enemies when at max health. Useful if you're opening fights rather than waiting for enemies to come to you.

Recommended Equipment Effects

Equipment Effects
Damage Dealt at Max HP ( + )
Strength ( + )
MP Recovery with Normal Attacks ( + )

With the use of a Katana, you can expect most enemies to be easily taken care of unless they have certain resistances to the type of attack you deal. This can be circumvented with the use of boosts in Equipment Effects.

Introducing damage boosts on top of incremental MP recovery with normal attacks goes a long way in making sure that you can perform consecutive combos at a time, harnessing the full power of the abilities that you pick up with the Warrior Job Tree.

Best Job Synergies and Pairings

Monk

MonkMonk Available Weapon(s) Shield?
Knuckles
Mace
Lance
Cannot use shields
Basic Info The Monk is a combination of the Pugilist and the Lancer. A specialized hand-to-hand combatant; the Monk has the ability to recover HP and refill their break gauge at the cost of MP.

Monk is a very great pairing with Warrior, due in part to the fact that Warrior can make use of Knuckle weapons as well. You can easily switch between the two when using the weapon type, although it is recommended that players only do this if they have a build at the ready for Monk that regenerates both HP and MP if players find it difficult to pace their use of MP with Warrior.

Samurai

SamuraiSamurai Available Weapon(s) Shield?
Katana
Cannot use shields
Basic Info The Samurai is the refined version of the Ronin. This job has access to the Meikyo-shisui, an ability that greatly increases the MP recovered from normal attacks and also restores MP when parrying.

Similar to Monk, the Warrior Job can also make use of the many different Katanas found in-game. This makes it easy for players to move from the more general aspects of Warrior to the more focused abilities and effects of Samurai.

Switch out when you feel the need to introduce more damage to your attacks and wish to capitalize on the damage bonuses brought by the Samurai Job.
