Info The Swordsman is a warrior that utilizes a Greatsword as the primary weapon. Swordsman offers high damaging blows while sacrificing mobility and agility due to the size of their weapon.
Job Action Spinning Slash: A spinning, slash-type attack. Hold Ability to continue spinning and gradually pick up speed. Switch to a charged attack by pressing Attack, or and enhanced guard by pressing Guard.

Swordsman Tips & How to Use

Perfect for Hack and Slash

Swordsman fighting
The Swordsman job is perfect for those who like fighting up-close. Even though this is one of the first jobs Jack will have access to, it is still very much effective later on. With the Spinning Slash ability, you can gain momentum and land a series of slashes that can damage all nearby enemies caught in the attack.

Slow but Heavy Attacks

Swordsman soul burst
The Swordsman is best used as a tank job, dealing heavy blows to quickly deplete enemy health and break enemy formation. Holding Attack can unleash a very strong hit that deals a big chunk of damage and can set you up for a quick Soul Burst.

Parry While Charging

While charging the greatsword, you will be vulnerable to attacks. To prevent this, you can quickly transition from charging into a guard. This is great for doing quick parries when you feel like the enemy is going to get its hit in first.

How to Unlock Swordsman

Equip a Greatsword

The Swordsman is available at the earliest stages of the game and can be unlocked by simply equipping any Greatsword.
