What Happens When You Die?
Ever wondered what happens when you die in Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin? Read on to learn the specifics of the Respawn and MP Reduction mechanics when you die in the game!

What Happens When You Die?

Respawn at the Last Activated Cube

Jack at Cubes
When you die in the game, you will simply respawn at the last cube you used. If you passed a cube but didn't use it and died along the way, you will not be spawned there. Using cubes will update your respawn point but will also respawn certain enemies so keep note of this!

Reduced Max MP

Dying also results in a decrease in max MP. The specifics of this MP Reduction mechanic entirely depends on which difficulty you are playing in.

Hard and CHAOS Mode

Dying in Hard Mode

An orb dropped upon death in Hard and CHAOS mode.

When playing on hard or chaos mode, dying in battle will reduce your max MP all the way down to 2 bars. The lost MP will drop at the spot where you died in the form of a red orb. The orb will disappear if you die before you manage to retrieve it.

Story and Action Mode

Dying on Regular Story Mode and Action Difficulty will only lessen your max MP by 1 bar.

Additionally, Story mode's Casual mode completely negates MP reduction. Dying in Casual Mode lets you respawn at your last activated cube with all your MP intact, making it the best difficulty setting for those who are only in it for the game's story.
