Absorb Abilities

While the only attacks you can absorb in this fight will be during Phase 1, absorbing spells and recasting them at Darkness Manifest gives you additional attacks at your disposal. Abilities like Furious Flame and Malicious Waters are what you want to absorb as these deal good damage.

You can determine which element Darkness Manifest will imbue its attacks with based on the arm it used to cast. Keep this in mind at all times throughout the fight!

Attack From the Flank and Rear

Darkness Manifest will be casting a number of spells which require it to lock at a direction for a few seconds. Once you see it begin any animation, that would be the perfect time to reposition yourself behind it. This opens up a better opportunity to attack since the critical strikes will let you inflict quality damage.

Combo abilities that have a charge like Marauder's Moon Slash or Breaker's Zantetsuken combined with Lunatic are great to have for this strategy as you can benefit greatly by dealing more damage with a longer charge. Similarly, abilities like Dragoon's Vanquish or Samurai's Hana-Arashi which require more time to finish their full combo work just as well.
