Each mission will take roughly an hour to complete if you decide to kill every enemy on the path to the end of the mission. Given that the game has 18 main mission, we can estimate that with a single run of each mission, the entire game length would be around 20-22 hours, then add a few more hours of grinding and looting for better gear.

Theoretical Speedrun of 12-15 Hours

It is theoretically possible to beat Stranger of Paradise in under 20 hours if you avoid unnecessary engagements, fight only when necessary, and have good intuition when it comes to tricky dungeons. Situations that mandate actual combat would include boss fights, breaking Dark Vents that block your path, and light EXP farming to reach the Advanced and Expert jobs you need.

Optional Side Missions

The game also features 19 side missions that you have to unlock by finding and interacting with purple orbs hidden throughout main missions. Most side missions only have a handful of objectives, and some only require you to replay a boss fight, however, what will take long to complete the side missions is the unlock requirements for each side mission, forcing you to go back to main missions and explore even further.

Post-Game Length

+30 Hours for Post Game

Once you finish the game, you unlock CHAOS Difficulty. This will allow you to replay the entire game on a higher difficulty. It would take about 30 hours more gameplay time to overcome every challenge because of the time needed to grind before you have gear that's powerful enough to beat the next level. It will take even more time to grind and finish each mission on the highest mission level possible, Level 300!
