Command Ability Setup

Best Commands
Magic ArtsMagic Arts LunaticLunatic ZanshinZanshin
  • Magic Arts: Magic Arts lets you temporarily increase MP recover after landing a successful hit, with each hit extending the duration of this effect. As the true potential of the Cyclic Warrior is its devastating magic ability, all commands will priorize the recovery of MP through simpler means.
  • Lunatic: Given that the Axe is a rather large and heavy weapon, applying Lunatic will greatly increase your attack speed at the cost of disabling auto-break gauge regeneration. This will be a sacrifice worth making as your goal will be to max out your MP to use Soul of Chaos.
  • Zanshin: With the first two commands active, you can set up Zanshin to reduce the MP cost of combos, allowing you to spam more combos and still gain MP with the effect of Magic Arts.

Passive and Effect Priorities

Best Passives and Effects
ChaosbringerChaosbringer Passive V2 copy.pngLightbringer Duration Passive V2 copy.pngDuring Lightbringer: Damage Dealt
  • Chaosbringer: This command ability should replace Lightbringer as it gives the same effects, but with the added effect that Abilities will not require MP to activate. This let you spam Soul of Chaos without having to worry about your MP consumption, at least until the end of the command's duration.
  • Lightbringer Duration: It is imperative that you focus on passive effects that buff up the duration of Chaosbringer. Finishing off enemies while Chaosbringer is active will also automatically end with a soul burst, allowing you to recover MP for Soul of Chaos.
  • During Lightbringer: Damage Dealt: The Cyclic Warrior is a good balance at dealing heavy physical damage as well as magic damage. It won't hurt to buff up that damage output even further considering that your command abilities will center around MP recovery based on normal attacks.

Recommended Equipment Effects

Equipment Effects
Magic Break Damage Dealt ( + )
MP Recovery Rate with Normal Attacks ( + )
Soul Burst: MP Recovery ( + )
Lightbringer Duration ( + )

The Cyclic Warrior will benefit a lot from MP recovered with normal attacks because of its already remarkable physical damage output. However, its true power lies in having pools of MP to activate Chaosbringer and Soul of Chaos so invest in changing equipment effects to buff up MP recovery rate and Chaosbringer's duration.
