The Suffering of Fools Walkthrough

Objectives
1	・Go to the Path of the Forlorn At the first part of the mission you have to paths that you can follow, The Jester's Causeway on the Left, and the Path of the Undaunted to the right. Go to the left path with the gate first to enter the Path of the Forlorn. Go inside and follow the roots upwards until you see two different paths. Going to the right allows you to get access to a way to a Cube, which you can go back to. Going to the left leads to a downward path filled with enemies and traps. There's a Cube that you can use after getting past the enemies. After using the Cube keep following the path until you see enemies and a teleporter that you can use. You will reach an area with a Dark Vent that you have to break. After breaking it, return to the teleporter to get out, and use the next teleporter to return to the first area.
2	・Go to the Path of the Undaunted After returning using the teleporter, go right to the Path of the Undaunted. Follow the path until you see a large area that has a path going up and a bone bridge to the right. Defeat the enemies and cross the bone bridge to get a chest and proceed further to find a path going down that leads to a Cube. Go past the Cube to find an area with a teleporter that you can use. This leads to another Dark Vent that you have to break. After this, use the next teleporter to return to the Jester's Causeway.
3	・Go to The Devoted's Path Go to the center area with the blocked gate, and go to the right to enter The Devoted's Path. After entering, there are two paths, the left one leading to a Tonberry, and the right one leading to the main path. Follow the main path to reach a Cube that you can rest on. After the Cube, there's another area with a teleporter that you can use. You will fins the third Dark Vent that you need to break. Break this and use the Teleporter to get out.
4	・Return to the Jester's Causeway Return to the Jester's Causeway and travel to the previously blocked gate and break the Dark Vent. After that, use the Cube to rest.
5	・Defeat Astos Get past the door to face Astos. Defeating him completes the mission.

Tips and Strategies

Avoid the Spike Traps

The level is filled with spike traps that trigger whenever you get close. The best way to deal with them is to slowly approach them while guarding, and letting them trigger. This allows you to break them and open up more paths to move around.
