Familiarize yourself with the differences of each difficulty setting, and if by some off-chance you're still having trouble, just change difficulties from the World Map!
Difficulty Settings and Differences
The Soul Shield is a form of protection that allows you to block enemy attacks and gain MP or Instant Abilities. Time it right, and you can set up counterattacks!
CHAOS Difficulty is a special post-game difficulty that aims to give players who have already finished the story and want to seek even more daunting challenges. On this difficulty you can spend Anima Crystals to raise the mission level. Doing so will allow you to earn rare and more powerful weapons and armor.
How to Unlock CHAOS Difficulty
Use Job Crests to raise the Job Affinity of a weapon or piece of armor, but to do that you'll need a very special item: the Smith Hammer III!
Use Master Points to upgrade your stats even further, respec whenever you want and build the perfect warrior!
