Take Your Time
You will find yourself using your soul shield a lot during this boss fight because Dragon Zombie's attack patterns are mainly full moves than quick strikes. Take your time in fighting this boss and block whenever you see it starting an animation. Once you block enough of its attacks to stagger it, you will have a good opportunity to dish out good damage.
Preparation Is Key
Dragon Zombie takes very good damage from Holy weapons and abilities so make sure to equip yourself accordingly. Additionally, Dragon Zombie's attacks are poison-based so it would be a good idea to gear up with items and armor that can diminish poison.
You Are the Bait
If you get too far away from it during its Phase 2, it will burrow underground and pop out underneath you. However, this can be used against itself as you can bait it out to bring it to a position advantageous to you.
If you find yourself out of MP, you can continuously circle around the area and soul shield the damage to fill up your MP bar to full. Predicting when it will come up is fairly easy since there is a black puddle that appears wherever it will pop out from.

| Rush | Dragon Zombie walks forward over enemies. |
| Poison Breath | Dragon Zombie spews out gas coming from left to right. |
| Deadly Stomp | Dragon Zombie flies up and drops down damaging anyone underneath. |
