This is a guide to leveling up Jobs in Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin. Learn how to grind EXP to level up Jobs, what factors affect EXP growth, and the best spots to farm EXP.
List of Contents
Steps | |
---|---|
1 | Use equipment with high Affinity for the Job that you are using. The higher the Affinity for the Job you are using, the more EXP you will gain for that Job. |
2 | Pick the highest level mission available to you with Main Item Drops that give equipment with Affinity corresponding to the Job you want to level up. Don't worry if you are under-leveled for the mission. |
3 | Farm enemies near a Cube for high level equipment. Rare equipment at high levels offer the highest boosts to Affinity. Even if you select Abandon Mission, you keep all of your loot and EXP. |
4 | Repeat this process as you unlock harder missions to get better equipment and gain job levels much more quickly. |
Note: You can choose to equip weapons and armor that have Affinity for different jobs to gain a lesser amount of EXP for each, or you can stack equipment with Affinity for the same Job to greatly boost EXP gains for one Job.
List of Best Farming Missions | |

Coral Memories: The Greedy | Coral Memories: The Avenger |
One of the best missions to farm in CHAOS Difficulty is the side mission Coral Memories: The Greedy. This mission rewards 10 Anima Crystals for the first time completion bonus, and 5 Anima Crystals on repeat runs (at the base mission level).
All you need to do is find the Trident located in a random treasure chest to complete the mission. The area isn't very large so even in the worst cases, you can complete this mission in a matter of minutes.
This is a great way to get enough Anima Crystals to raise the mission level to 300, allowing you to farm for equipment of that level. Additionally there are Bombs right near the start of the level you can farm by casting Firaga.
Similar to Coral Memories: The Greedy, Coral Memories: The Avenger's only objective is to get an item from a chest, and this time the chest is always in the same spot. On repeat runs, this mission rewards 6 Anima Crystals per completion at base level. To complete it, you will need to take out two beacons guarded by enemies to reach the chest.
The first required mob consists of a Mindflayer and some spiders. Take out the Mindflayer first, and the spiders won't give you much trouble. The second required mob is a pair of bombs near the second beacon. Cast Firaga to cause them to Self-Destruct, and avoid aggroing the Ogre on the other side of the room. Backtrack and grab the chest to complete the mission.
Step | Explanation |
---|---|
1 | Go to an area in Chaos Shrine or Mount Gulg where Bombs are found near Cubes. |
2 | Set your Jobs to Mage and the Job you want to level up. Set your Equipment to maximize Job Affinity for the Job you want to level up. |
3 |
As the Mage, cast Firaga on a Bomb to make it Self-Destruct. Before it Self-Destructs, switch to the Job you want to level up. Alternatively you can use the Bomb's Fire attacks against it as an Instant Ability with any Job equipped. |
4 | You will receive the majority of the EXP for the Job you switched to instead of the Mage Job. |
One of the first enemies available is the Bomb, ubiquitous in the Chaos Temple, the first dungeon of the game.
You can farm EXP for any Job by simply casting the Firaga spell on a Bomb before it sees you, and then quickly switching to your other equipped Job.
This will allow you to receive the majority of the EXP for the kill on the Job you want. Depending on how much Job Affinity you have equipped, your EXP gain will vary, but you can receive 570 EXP per Bomb via this method with the base 30% Job Affinity.
Even if a Job is not currently equipped in either of the two Battle Sets, it will receive EXP as long as you have Job Affinity for that Job.
In addition, the more Job Affinity you have for a Job, the more EXP it will get.
The chart below shows the EXP Gain when defeating a Bomb at different Job Affinity levels, without using that Job to kill the enemy.
Job Affinity | EXP Gain |
---|---|
30% | 138 |
39% | 160 |
86% | 216 |
Having a Job equipped when a Monster is killed will yield more EXP. Even if the equipped Job does not actually deal any damage to the Monster, if it is equipped when the Monster dies, that Job will receive the EXP bonus.
Job Affinity | EXP Gain |
---|---|
30% (not equipped) | 138 |
30% (equipped) | 570 |
