All Stat Explanations and Effects

This guide will explain all stats and their effects in Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin. Read on to learn what each stat does, and what stats are best to focus on raising.

All Stats Explained

List of Player Stats and Effects

Stat	Effects
HP	Hit Points determine how many hits can be taken before dying
MP	Magic Points are needed to cast magic and use abilities
Break	When your Break Gauge is depleted you will stagger, if an enemy's Break Gauge is depleted you can execute a Soul Burst to finish them off instantly
Strength	Increases physical attack power
Agility	Increases break damage dealt on critical hits
Stamina	Increases defense against physical attacks
Intellect	Increases magic attack power
Spirit	Increases defense against magic attacks
Luck	Increases item drop rates
Physical Attack	Determines damage output of physical attacks
Physical Defense	Determines physical damage reduction
Magic Attack	Determines damage output of magic attacks
Magic Defense	Determines magic damage reduction

Slash	Deals slash damage to enemies
Pierce	Deals piercing damage to enemies
Strike	Deals strike damage to enemies
Fire	Deals fire elemental damage to enemies
Ice	Deals ice elemental damage to enemies
Lightning	Deals lightning elemental damage to enemies
Earth	Deals earth elemental damage to enemies
Water	Deals water elemental damage to enemies
Wind	Deals wind elemental damage to enemies
Holy	Deals holy elemental damage to enemies

How to Increase Stats

Change Equipment

The equipment you are using directly affects your stats. Each piece of equipment may have different Equipment Effects. As you cycle through equipment, stat changes will be displayed on the right side of the screen.

Gain Affinity Bonuses

After reaching a certain level of Affinity with a Job, you will gain Affinity Bonuses that boost your stats. For the best results, stack armor with Affinity for the same Job type to unlock as many Job Affinity Bonuses as possible.

Change Jobs

Different Jobs offer different base stats, and depending on that Job's Affinity Bonuses, those changes may become even more pronounced with higher Affinity. Additionally certain passive abilities within Job Trees can boost certain attack types for that Job.

You can change Jobs from the Battle Settings Menu. Select your current job at the top left of the screen and a list of available jobs to switch to will appear in the menu.
