Certain rewards are only eligible in non-story difficulties. Quantities of items such as Anima Shards also vary depending on which difficulty you're on.
To unlock Ebon Memories: The Truthseeker, you need to complete the main mission The False Warriors. You will be able to access the side mission in the map screen and mission menu after completing the main mission.
The False Warriors Walkthrough and Rewards

| 1 |  ・Defeat Marilith In this side mission, you have to face Marilith again in a boss battle. Defeat her to complete the side mission. |
Marilith is one of the fastest bosses in the game. She can move quickly from one end of the arena from the other, and her main attacks require fast hands to block and counter. Make sure that you're always alert, and have your guard or Soul Shield up.
