Certain rewards are only eligible in non-story difficulties. Quantities of items such as Anima Shards also vary depending on which difficulty you're on.
To unlock Scarlet Memories: The Fallen, you need to complete the main mission Remembering Home. You will be able to access the side mission in the map screen and mission menu after completing the main mission.

1 | ・Find the Key of the Night In the starting area of the side mission. proceed to the path in the right to the area with the fountain. Proceed further until you reach a doorway that leads to two paths. The path on the left allows you to unlock the door going back to the starting Cube, and the path on the right allows you to proceed to the objective. Follow that path until you reach the end of the hall with enemies. Defeat the enemies and open the chest on the left to get the Key of the Night. After that, return to the starting area and open the locked elevator to proceed to the upper floor. |
2 | ・Find the Destroy the First Dark Vent After using the Elevator, keep following the path on the right and into the hall until you see the first Dark Vent. You need to eliminate all enemies to break this Vent. |
3 | ・Find and Destroy the Second Dark Vent After breaking the first Dark Vent enter the newly-opened path and go to the right. This leads to another room with the second Dark Vent. Defeat all enemies including a Master Tonberry to break this Dark Vent and complete the side mission. |
To beat the Gigas and deplete their Break Gauges, use Earth element weapons and abilities. This includes spells like Quake, which can also hit surrounding enemies. They also have wide swinging attacks that make it challenging to attack them from behind. Make sure that you are on your guard and keep your Soul Shield up for these attacks.

Avoiding and using the Soul Shield on the Master Tonberry's attacks are important, since they can either stun you, or deal enough damage to defeat you. If you do get stunned, make sure to try and dodge as fast as possible, since it has a knife attack that can kill you in a hit or two.
