Breaker is one of the few Jobs that offer great third Link abilities that mesh well with Combo Abilities from other Jobs. This build in particular will focus on using Lance weapons, although the build is extremely modular in that it can also be used with other weapon types with Command, Passive, and Effect Abilities along with Equipment Effects remaining largely the same.
The build is great for players seeking a long-ranged solution to most problems that can be found when encountering enemy groups without having to resort to Magic-casting Jobs such as Sage.

Although this build does not require players to have substantial amounts of MP at their disposal, having MP being capably replenished through Normal Attacks can help players to trigger the Overpower Ability more often.
This ability, which has devastating effects against groups of enemies, is useful ace up the player's sleeve whenever they deal with stronger enemy types or bosses. Four full bars of MP are required to effectively use it, with other Combo Abilities requiring two or less MP bars to use.
Sage | Available Weapon(s) | Shield? |
---|---|---|
Mace |
Can use shields | |
Basic Info | The Sage is a master of spellcasting. They can cast Magic Sigil, to toggle between white and black magic. Casting a white or black magic spell will earn you an emblem of the corresponding color. The more emblems you have, the quicker you will cast spells. |
Powerful though it may be, Breaker's powerful long-range attacks simply come at too high of an MP cost to be used consistently against opponents. Despite the fantastic damage its Normal and Combo based attacks can deal against an opponent, the long-ranged attack options with Sage offer a great damage premium for players at minimal amounts of MP required to achieve the same devastating attacks as that of Breaker.
Nonetheless, having Sage as a pairing for Breaker, rather than being its own standalone Job, is a decent way of having melee and magic based options for players in different fights.
Tyrant | Available Weapon(s) | Shield? |
---|---|---|
Sword Daggers Knuckles Mace Lance Katana |
Can use shields | |
Basic Info | The Tyrant is a master of elemental combat. This Job has the ability to imbue their weapon with an element corresponding to the magic of their choice. |
Another option for players seeking a more magical option is Tyrant. Unlike Sage, Tyrant will allow players to instead enchant their weapons with the elements – a little knowledge on the enemy is required to make this advantage truly work, as different enemies will have different elemental weaknesses.
Managing to exploit these weaknesses will not only lead to faster ending fights, but also significant gains against powerful bosses that otherwise will prove to be a massive challenge for players.
