Item Drops on CHAOS Difficulty

Artifacts can only be obtained on CHAOS Difficulty and can be dropped by enemies the same as any other regular piece of equipment. To unlock CHAOS Difficulty, first you must clear each main mission on any of the lower difficulties.

About Artifacts

Equipment with Multiple Affinities

Unlike normal weapons and armor, Artifacts have Affinities for multiple Jobs and can only be obtained while playing on CHAOS Difficulty. Having multiple Affinities is useful for leveling up your Jobs to level 99, as higher Affinity will gain more EXP for those jobs.

To level up Affinity for Artifacts or regular equipment, you can spend Job Crests at the Smithy to raise the Affinity of your gear.
