Jack Must Become Chaos

After learning the truth behind Lufenia's schemes of toying with world and resetting it on their whim, Jack decides he needs the power of Chaos of completely free himself from the shackles of Lufenia's grasp. After defeating Darkness Manifest and absorbing the Soul of Chaos, Jack returns to Chaos Shrine, but not in his timelime.

The F(r)iends of Chaos

Stranger of Paradise - Fiends of Chaos
Upon ascending to the throne in Chaos Shrine, Jack is met by the four Fiends of Chaos: Lich, Kraken, Marilth, and Tiamat. Afterwards, they reveal their identites to actually be Ash, Jed, Neon, and Sophia, respectively. They wove the threads of darkness to pull Jack back to the past about 2000 years before the reign of King of Cornelia. It was their plan all along for Jack to become Chaos so that they could all be free from Lufenia.

Setting up Final Fantasy 1

Stranger of Paradise - The Warriors of Light
Jack knowingly decides to fully take on the mantle Chaos so that the world can be rid of Lufenia. It became his plan to bide his time, to train the Warriors of Light themselves, to prepare them to one day face him. In becoming Chaos, Jack inevitably breaks the world reset loop of the Lufenians, kickstarting the timeline that is to be the very first Final Fantasy game.
