Activate Command Ability

Open up the command abilities menu.
2 Activate Lightbringer
Select Lightbringer.

Lightbringer is the first command ability players will encounter in the game. It is the only command ability you cannot remap and is can be activated by hitting L2 + Circle (for Playstation users). A minimum of 2 MP bars are required to activate Lightbringer.

Good Against Tougher Enemies

Good Against Tougher Enemies
Whenever you find yourself up against a more resilient and durable enemy, activating Lightbringer could make the fight more manageable. The increased Break Damage you inflict can help you land a Soul Burst, this way you don't have to keep fighting until the whole HP bar is depleted.

Job Synergies

Breaker big Break Gauge damage

There are certain jobs that deal heavy Break Damage with their combo abilities. Popping Lightbringer while using these combo abilities in fights provide copious amounts of Break Damage.

Swordfighter is one of the Basic Jobs that you can equip as its Cross Slash can synergize well with Lightbringer. Over at the Expert Jobs, Breaker is ideal with its numerous high Break Damage combos.

Increased Break Damage
Lightbringer empowers players to deal increased Break Damage to enemies. Additionally, the max Break Gauges of enemies get reduced when you hit them.

Soul Burst Effect

Soul Burst Effect
While Lightbringer is active and you get your enemy's HP to 0, you will be granted the same effect as a Soul Burst. This could prove advantageous especially when fighting mobs as you can chain the Soul Burst effect to significantly speed up the fight.

How to Extend Lightbringer Duration

Use Lightbringer Equipment Effects

Equipping certain items will allow you to extend the duration of Lightbringer while the Duelist job has passive abilities that extend Lightbringer's duration. Take a look at the different equipment and jobs so you can adjust your battle settings to have the optimal setup!
