Fire Knight Build

Stranger of Paradise - Fire Knight
Although the focus of the Void Knight Job is centered around its ability to absorb and channel spells cast by enemies, there are abilities in its Job Tree that offer great melee attacks that are imbued with elemental magic.

The focus of this build is the Inferno Combo Ability, which damages enemies with not just melee attacks, but also fire-imbued slash attacks when using Greatswords. If properly buffed with appropriate Equipment Effects or higher level gear, just one use of Inferno is enough to destroy a single enemy.

Best Commands
OverpowerOverpower BraveryBravery LunaticLunatic
  • Overpower: Produces a powerful, long-ranged attack that can only be used while the Lightbringer Command Ability is active. Unlocked in the Breaker Job Tree.
  • Bravery: Temporarily increases the amount of damage you and your party deal against enemies while also gradually refilling your break gauge. Unlocked in the Liberator Job Tree.
  • Lunatic: Temporarily increases attack speed at the cost of automatic break gauge recovery. Unlocked in the Berserker Job Tree.

Passive and Effect Priorities

Best Passives and Effects
All Damage -5.4%All Damage -5.4% Mettle MasherMettle Masher Ability Damage +4.1%Ability Damage +4.1%
  • All Damage -5.4%: Reduces the amount of damage taken from enemies – two variants of this passive ability can be taken in the Job Tree.
  • Mettle Masher: Enhances abilities set to the second Link (Hound's Claw). Attacks with that Link will restore MP based on the amount of magic damage you can deal against opponents.
  • Ability Damage +4.1%: Greatly increases the amount of damage players can deal against opponents when using Abilities – if ill equipped with Equipment Effects that can boost Inferno, this passive ability provides great help in buffing the effects of that ability.

Critical Damage Dealt ( + )

Status Ailment Accumulation ( + )
Break Gauge Recovery Speed ( + )

Being a melee/status ailment focused build, players will need plenty of buffs not just the amount of damage they can, but also Status Ailment Accumulation. This is for the tougher enemies that cannot be felled with just several swings of the weapon, ensuring that even as you step away to recover, such enemies will continue taking on damage.

Best Job Synergies and Pairings

Sage

SageSage Available Weapon(s) Shield?
Mace
Can use shields
Basic Info The Sage is a master of spellcasting. They can cast Magic Sigil, to toggle between white and black magic. Casting a white or black magic spell will earn you an emblem of the corresponding color. The more emblems you have, the quicker you will cast spells.

Taking in the positive advantages of both White Mage and Black Mage, Sage capitalizes on their strengths into one single platform that offers players a dexterous Job class that affords them great offensive and defensive capabilities while also adding great range to their arsenal.

Ninja

NinjaNinja Available Weapon(s) Shield?
Daggers
Knuckles
Katana
Cannot use shields
Basic Info The Ninja is a master of ninjutsu. This class can perform special techniques that consume ninja tools instead of MP. These special ninja tools can be replenished by visiting a cube.

Although Void Knight does allow players to make use of Daggers as part of their toolkit, the amount of abilities or buffs in its Job Tree is sorely lacking and leaves much to be desired for players prioritizing attack speed over anything else.

Players can get the best of both worlds by making use of this build for Void Knight while also having Ninja as a substitute Job should speed become a necessity in combat.
