Cactuars and Rewards

Drop Loot and High EXP

Cactuars are a type of bonus enemy that appear randomly in levels. Defeating a Cactuar will reward you with extra loot for that area's level and a high amount of EXP. Cactuars will try to flee from battle, so make sure you keep within attacking range to keep the Cactuar from disappearing.

Note: Although Cactuars tend to run away, they can fight back, and their 1000 Needles attack can be deadly. If you die to a Cactuar, there is no guarantee that it will respawn in the same area, so watch your health when fighting them.

Defeat For the No Escape Trophy

Defeating a Cactuar for the first time will grant you the No Escape trophy. If you're looking to Platinum Stranger of Paradise, make sure you take down at least one Cactuar along the way.

Cactuar Spawn Location Info

Cactuars Spawn Randomly

Cactuars will pop up at random throughout levels, making their locations unpredictable. Keep an eye out for this elusive enemy type, and don't let them get away!

Additionally, it seems that once a Cactuar is defeated, it will not respawn for that level, so farming them is not a viable option for leveling up Jobs or equipment.
